I was THIS close to swearing off 3rd party figures... I've never been so happy to punish my wallet.

It's like these companies are calling Hasbro out and saying "You might have done it first, but we can do it better".

I don't know about that. Hasbro's Springer kicked Defender down a few notches...
Anyways this Galvatron is certainly better than anything Hasbro's done for the character since his appearance in the Energon show, but I'd hardly call it the quintessential Galvatron. He seems to stand bow-legged in every picture we've seen. I don't think I see any ankle swivels that would allow him to stand at attention. His lower arm is bent in a curve and his wrists and hands just aren't all that well thought out. If you have a Predaking from the TF: Prime series, you can see similarities in design.
Is it a decent Galvatron? Sure it is. Is it the best Galvatron to date? Yes it probably is. Is there room for someone - be it Hasbro or another company - to come in and do it better? Most definitely so.

The sharks i'm convinced of though.
Rated X wrote:I gotta respectfully disagree with you on Hasbro Springer vs. Defender. Besides the fact that Hasbro chose to make him too big to please the kids, he's still too leggy. They tried to streamline him too much. It worked for Mirage, but not for Springer. Springer is a tough guy, he needs to be bulky, not slender. Defender looks like he's ready to brawl and lock fists, while Hasbro Springer looks like he wants to throw a roundhouse ninja kick at you.

I think we've been through this round of punch-counterpunch before... you just don't appreciate the IDW design, and would prefer a more G1 movie, stout & blocky aesthetic, which is valid.

Inst he blocky in the IDW comic too ? From the few wreckers pictures ive seen, the long legs aesthetic is all hasbro not IDWs fault. On galvatron, I cant believe people would consider no foot articulation a deal breaker. It would be nice but It's not the end of the world. Theres so many positives about the design that outweigh the negatives. Nobody ever complained about foot articulation on the Cyclonus mold or any seeker mold. How about Thunderwing ? No foot articulation seems to be normal for so many decepticons.
