Actually, I do believe it is. I was reading your suggestions of an Ultra Class and subconciously substituted the one in the image for the Ultra Class one.

I think I'm going to disagree too. I think in Mkall's pic that Galvatron stands out as too big among all the other Classics goodness. In the G1 movie and cartoon, Galvatron wasn't significantly bigger. I cannot speak to the UK comics, but generally it's the cartoons that people attempt to match with scale. (Wasn't Fortress Maximus about the same size as Prime in the comics?)

I'd be all over this if a voyager (and if the price is right.)

Hater? I just think he's too big in that pic. I'd like to see something closer in size to Cyclonus.

That's why it's on my shelf and the Universe Galvatron mold has long since been given away. Yes, I was so sick of it, I literally gave it away to someone's kid. I kinda feel sorry for that kid in hindsight.

Which version do you have? I would call the mass-released Energon Megatron/Galvatron mold to be leader size in terms of size, but ultra-sized in terms of height. The version both I and Banjo-Tron are talking about is the down-scaled mode, which I would call ultra-sized, but only as tall as the average voyager, thanks to his impressive wingspan.

I did not know they produced a smaller size. I'll have to see if I can find mine and compare it. Now that I look again at your pic, it does look smaller. Too big for my liking, but smaller than Energon. Interesting...

For your reference, here are the two size classes side by side:

Wow. Those size comparison pics made me realize that I'm going to have to buy this guy. And just how ridiculous the Energon toys can be. Yikes.

And here's a couple of size comparison pics with Megatron and Magnus respectively. I would call him a smallish ultra as opposed to a large voyager, but then I'm splitting hairs

PS I have removed the wing kibble from my figure, and the 2 shoulder mounted weapons, and added G1 Galvatron's cannon instead

Nice comparison shots, he makes a great "Classics" Galvatron!

I think he's still just a bit big, but I have been forced to re-evaluate this mold. I definitely have the Energon mold and was thinking that he was way too big. Those pics, and the Universe mold, show a much better scale to Classics.

I have both the Superlink and Energon version of Galvatron. GL Galvy isn't perfect, but I think he scales well with some figures. He's actually exactly the same height as Hegemon, which works out well for my display.

Energon Galvatron is next to MP Rodimus right now and looks quite nice where he is. Until Takara makes an official MP anyway.

ah Energon/Superlink Galvatron. I have the wee one in their Megatron colours. No money or time to try and get the other one, at the moment, but it is rather nice.

I'd say Voyager is the ideal Classics Galvy size. he should shrink a fair bit for cannon mode though, so...it's awkward. Something around the height of Classics/Henkei Megatron or even FOC Grimlock would probably be fine. not too huge next to Scourge and Cyclonus. If they worked the G1 style extending legs in a clever way they could give people two options for height.

I have the large Energon Galvatron in bot mode next to my Powermaster Optimus Prime. I don't have his arm cannon attached (the stupid gray tank), I just have his shoulder cannons pointed up and out at a 45 degree angle, the same as the cannon/smokestacks on Powermaster Optimus Prime. I think of him as sort of a "Powermaster Galvatron":


I have the eHobby exclusive clear Galvatron as my Classics Galvatron at the moment, but if this turns out decent enough, I'll replace him with it, assuming he scales well enough with Cyclonus and Scourge.

If this is MP sized, I'll just wait on Takara.

I would be more than happy with an Ultra class. The new MP size is preferable along with the detail and complexity but an ultra class will do nicely.
Wondering why Galvy has been such an elusive figure for ANYBODY....3rd party or otherwise to tackle and successfully engineer into a decent toy as of late....or ever. I'm talking about the G1 aesthetic of course. That is the most iconic of all his iterations and nobody has done it justice.

Ah, I see. Hehe, I never really paid attention to that myself, but I see what you mean. He's got the whole "mini-me" thing going on there .

On the subject, does anyone know if there is a custom/mod/Shapeways/anything that allows for creating a more G1-like cannon for that version of Galvatron? I saw an earlier post where a user had attached a G1 Galvatron cannon to the arm of the smaller version of this mold, but I'm sure it wouldn't fit on the larger one.

Looking pretty decent, though I don't like his hands.

It looks like it has some weird articulation. Really hope there's wrist swivels, but I doubt it since every single hand in that picture is at the same angle.
