I'm starting to think that toy shops hate me.

I went to use my amazon voucher to find the CW Limbs have all sold out currently.

I went to Toys R Us Chatham to take back Evolution Grimlock that my mate got me for Christmas (I already had it).

The only CW stuff they had was the Voyagers, which I already have. Only other thing of note was they still had a couple of Platinum Primes and a Sunstorm. They had a load of RiD stuff, but I am finding it difficult to actually want anything from that line.

I left with a credit note.

Bloody combiner wars legends all over ebay for £20. Scalpers. Damn them!

I'm thinking about stuff from 2014 that I missed now that the new year is here and I'm looking at completing my Classics Kreons.

Does anybody know where I can get Microchangers Wave 6, without paying like £80 to import them from canada? Is there even a likelihood I could find them in the dealer room at AA? I've been trying to get a hold of these and Cliff/Galvy/Dreadwind in the custom kreons for a while, but they never showed up at UK retail. It seemed hopeful after Wave 5 showed up in Smyths, but they're still on pegs in Speke smyths at Wave 5 now.

So I came across something strange today while I was in Asda (the one closest to me in Thornaby) there was a RiD Under bite 1 step changer just sitting there with no obvious home and no space amongst the horde of unsold Dino rider figures (don't know who thought they were a good idea but they weren't) no price sticker for him either. Couldn't take a photo as my phone was at home recharging.

My patience has finally paid off - managed to get grab AOE Slash for £6.59 on a trip to Belfast.

Pre-orders on BBTS say march, so I have a bit of time to save for their release.

I just pre-ordered Wave 2 deluxes and Legends of BBTS because the last generations line we only just got Wave 2 of a couple of weeks ago and I kind of want the comics.

Guys I was hoping for some help about obtaining a certain figure. A bit of an odd request, but here goes.

My wife has recently got into reading MTME, she absolutely loves it. Her favourite character is Chromedome (she proper loves him) and she noticed that I do not have one in my collection. She collects various figures here and there (Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy and Anime) but has only just got into TF through reading the comics. She doesn't wish to start a collection though since I already one have displayed at our house, but she's pretty desperate to get a Chromedome now to add to it. I'm pretty partial to the idea too, as I like the guy, but I've never been that desperate to get him...yet.

My issue is that I can't find one outside of the G1 toy, which is something I don't collect. There is, of course, the Collector's Club version released last year. The only snag is that I'm not a member. I was hoping to pick one up for her birthday later this year to surprise her. Has anyone got any advice as to how to get hold of one, short of scouting ebay? They used to sell them at TFSource and BBTS over in the States, but alas, no more. I don't exactly want to end up spending a king's ransom on one guy, albeit this kind of thing means a lot to my other half and I do my best to keep her happy, the soppy git that I am.

I've also been thinking of ways to make a custom one. I could try repainting the RiD Wheeljack mould that his CC figure is based on, and I've also seen a good custom with Classics Hot Rod's body. Not sure what head to use, but the FoC Air Raid doesn't look far off. Not sure if the head will fit though.

I guess a custom one would mean more to her, since you put so much time into it. I don't know what you could use for a head unless you create a 3d one and make it on shapeways.


As for other versions, I believe there is only the g1, the tfcc and fans project function x-1. Other than eBay or the usual online shops, I doubt you would find the tfcc unless you happen upon someone selling.

Auto assembly usually has a dealer that sells tfcc stuff and botcon stuff. That's really the only other place I can suggest, but its not till the end of august and no guarantee what will be there.

I've seen a really good custom one built from a TF prime vehicon, as insurgent said you could try picking up the TFSS one at AA. Though he's bound to be pricey as him and rewind were the most sought after figures from that year's service. I've a couple of extra vehicons I'm offloading if you need materials. I've been toying with the idea of building a custom domey myself as he's conspicuously missing from my MTME shelf. But i never finished my last 2 projects. I have a 90% complete deluxe class windcharger built from generations bumblebee still missing a head and a MTME Roddy made from beasthunters wheeljack still under construction as I don't know quite how to sculpt his rear wing/spoiler mejig.

Cheers for the response guys. I'm going to try my hand at making a custom, when I get the time. I'll use FoC Air Raid's head as it looks pretty close. It'll be my first attempt at a custom so I'll try to do a few mock ups first. What do you guys use for the paint?

I may think about picking one up at AA if he's available, but it depends on price. Otherwise I'm still hoping that HasTak might release a retail Domey at some point. Would love to see them incorporate some Lost Lighters in the CW toyline.

I personally go into games workshop and use their citadel paints. They're straight forward and well suited to task, plus the nice chaps in the shop will usually help you pick out the right ones to use i you show them your colour sheet or mock-up.
I'll pick up some tamiya if I need transparent paints. Acrylics are the easiest to work with.
I can't recommend looking into an airbrush enough either.

I use tamaya acrylics. Much nicer than enamals. Personally I find games workshop paints a bit overpriced. I only use them for gunmetal colour for the mechanical details.

Also remember if you do go aa, there's no certainty domey will be there. And as said, he will be pricey, especially given his popularity.

I think doing your own custom will be a real nice gift that she will appreciate a lot more than a bought one.

What I didn't realise is that it's this week and the likelihood of me getting chance to go there is slim.

Maybe as one of those 'Platinum' sets Id guess. I would love to see the return of the standard retail box set, just like the RofF Superion set from a few years ago.
