Had an email from the guy selling me that club Astrotrain that explains why it's so cheap and makes quite an interesting offer. I can't run to this sort of money at the moment but thought I'd share just in case anybody else was feeling rich.

Anthony wrote:Hi,

Thanks for this purchase. I have a box full of classics available if
you're interested, as I am leaving Australia to return to the UK. I
can't
split them up as I do not have time to post here there and everywhere,
but
they are worth over £1000 and include the full Botcon 2007 set
(Thundercracker, Thrust, etc), Botcon 2005 Ironhide & Fallback, Energon
Wheeljack, Inferno, Roadblock, Movie Jazz in g1 colours, classics
Optimus
Prime, Megs (G1 coloured KO), Starscream, Skywarp, Mirage, Hot Rod,
Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Ramjet, Jetfire, Astrotrain, Titanium Scourge,
Soundwave & Rodimus Prime - as I said they are worth well over £1000,
but
I will sell for £600 inc postage. Even if you have some of the figures,
you could resell and make some cash back. I wouldn't normally ask
outside
of ebay, but I am in dire straits of cash. I would require an answer
asap,
as I leave Monday, so payment would have to be received Sunday latest.

Also, I have a custom made Cyclonus, same size as he classics, worth
£150,
which I will sell for £135 inc postage.

Anyway, let me know, and I will post off Astrotrain & your free figure
today.

Regards,

Anthony.

If anyone has that sort of cash that they want to part with and trusts a private offer from an ebay seller give me a shout and I'll PM you his email address. While there's a part of me that always seems sceptical about this sort of thing he seems genuine enough and I'm feeling a lot better about having grabbed Astrotrain for a suspiciously cheap price now.

I certainly wouldn't mind looking like a Simpson character for a day or so.

Ah, but a human being can live on half a kidney.
The other is spare.

Plus, if you are perchance left with half a kidney, it will regrow to form a whole kidney again.

Same with the liver. Half a liver can regrow itself.

This really helps save lives sometimes.

What do we think guys? Honest or scammer?

I'd probably be happy to chip into a group fund if and when that astrotrain arrived intact.
Personally I definitely want the Botcon 2007 seekers and most of the other botcon 2007 bits.
Would anyone else want to chip into a group fund for any of the rest with me? Or does this guy scream scammer to everyone else?

I am really dubious. I already have pretty much everything he's offering anyway, bar the 05 stuff and the odd Classic and Titanium, so it wouldn't have been one that I'd jump at on the best of days. The whole 'need the cash by Sunday' bit is the one thing that really worries me.

If anyone was wanting to go for this I'd certainly recommend insisting on it being listed as an auction with a BiN price and getting it through that as soon as it went up. Ebay and Paypal cover isn't exactly 100% but at least it would be an extra level of protection. This said I've had a seller come back to me before with an offer of a similar lot to what I'd already bought from him (different seller and not to this sort of value) and things worked out fine with that. Well, aside from A Jetfire's Minicon having a broken leg thingie, but for cheapie played with toys as part of a larger lot no big deal.

The really funny thing here is that I seem to recognise the guy's ebay handle. I suppose I might of bought something from him ages ago or just seen it around a few times here and there. As and when I receive that Astrotrain I'll feel a lot better about the whole thing, but even that going well doesn't make this offer 100% sound. As I said yesterday, while not perfect his feedback's okay and he only looks to have really gotten into arguements when he's been buying rather than selling. It's all plausable enough and his email is a .co.uk address which a Brit that had been based in Oz for a while may well have kept when they moved out there.

It's interesting, but almost certainly a risk.

The BiN option sound OK to me but that would of course push up the price as Ebay would want their splace and I don't see the seller paying out of his £££s.

TRU in Stevenage has both movie Swindle and Bonecrusher, hadn't seen those before. They have finally reduced the price of the Blackout/Scorponok twin pack to a slightly more realistic £29.99

Woolies on the other hand had a different assortment of deluxes with Arcee, Dreadwing and the '08 Bumblebee present.

It looks like Hasbro UK are up thier old tricks of sending out different case assortments/waves to different retailers

I've run meself over with a large quad bike before now. Didn't even rip me trousers. But it had the potential to kill me apparently :?

I might as well be called the iron man :P

Nothin new. Me bro received two packages. One's a Rumble articulated statue with a rock base, and the other was sent back to the depo cos the UPS guy didn't even ring the effin doorbell.

I think it may well be Black THS Convoy.

Either that or it's me Mirage.

a. This were a new thing
b. We didn't have internet shopping
c. I were some kind of emo geek
