Is the Mk1 figure worth getting? I'm slightly worried about his articulation particularly at the arms.

he doesnt have much articulation, but he is a great looking figure, and you can get him into some action poses, but his elbows and knees dont bend much...but if you can get it in an offer (bogof or 1/2 price) then i recommend getting him, he does look very cool

I find it interesting that in Woolworths near me, the Iron Man figures have the width of an aisle. Speed Racer figures have a FULL AISLE. Seriously!

That's what I thought. I was checking the TFs, came to the end of the aisle, where the Iron Man figures had their little spot. I turned around, and there was a whole aisle full of crappy Speed Racer figures. Keychains, this big car, I think it was remote controlled, action figures...everything. The film doesn't come out till 9th of May, yet somehow Speed Racer holds higher priority than Iron Man.

Went to the TrU near the metrocenter, yeah, there was **** all of interest in the actual tf aisle (most of which was full of doctor how stuff), equally **** all on the aisle end, and there waas some other random end that had a load of the most recent wave of Movie deluxes (far too high up for anybody to actully reach, but I couldnt see anything I wanted anyway), the other usual movie rubbish, and (and I found this VERY ODD) a whole load of Armada Superpants Prime Bubblegum dispensors....

bumblebee-prime91 wrote:hey guys heres a little guide on how to make those badges for auto assembly its really easy and cheap aswell

stuff needed: any kind of glue, a safety pin for each badge, some cardboard, a pair of sissors, some sellatape and of course...the picture of your badge

notes: a good type of glue to use is rather pritstick or superglue...they work pretty well. get enough card for the amount of badges you want.

what you should do before attempting this: okay if you don't have a badge you should go to the wise and powerful badge making wizard...dealer, supplie him with the picture you want on the badge and tell him which kind of badge you would like...then just wait...

now on to the guide...

step 1: save your badge picture to microsoft paint then open it up in MS paint...next go to image and select stretch and skew

step 2: be really carful with this bit! now stretch the image (in both boxes) to 120 then again to 130 then finally to 150...keep going to print preview to make sure you have it right

step 3: print out the image whens its the right size and cut it out

step 4: take the glue and stick the badges to the cardboard...if you have super glue wait abot 5-20 minutes then once the glue is dry cut it out again but be carful as it is tricky to cut it out now

step 5: open up the safety pin then put some sellatape around the flat bit (not the pin bit) and stick it to the back of your badge as best you can

if you are making more than one bade repeat steps 1 to 5

then you are done...i just did this for 3 badges...it works really well!

Amazing! I'm gonna have to make one now, but first I need an ODB avatar. If someone could email me the template to chris_helps@live.co.uk I would be very grateful :)

AA this year will be great, I'm looking forward to putting names to faces. This will be my first ever convention so I'm rather excited. Might have to sneak in a few drinks at the bar as well...

I don't even know what Speed Racer is, why it's got a film or why I should care. Great job by their advertising team.

And Mk1 Iron Man is worth getting. As has been pointed out, very limited articulation at the elbows and knees, but he's got a good bulk to him. Really conveys the idea that this was something cobbled together out of spare parts. And after seeing it in the trailer, I knew I needed one. Not seeing the film til next weekend. :(

Finally catching up on Animated - got to about episode 10 so far and it just hit me why I was slightly annoyed with Megatron's voice. It sounds like impressionist Jon Culshaw of of Dead Ringers. I am subconciously waiting for Megs to break into a Dale Winton impression... *shudder*

Other that that it's pretty decent stuff and I'm lookin' forward to introducing Mini-collider to it.

Thanks ThunderThruster, I shall get to work on throwing together an ODB avatar. I'm sure we'll look all very spiffy with our badges.

I'm kinda pissed that TRU seems to be taking over valuable TF space with Doctor Who shelfwarmers. I've watched the show from time to time, but not nearly enough to call myself even a regular viewer. Give me Star Wars any day :P

As for TF Animated, I'm on Episode 5 I think...damn uni work!

As far as remaining availability for AA goes I'm not sure what the upper limit for capacity at the Clarendon Suites would be, but Simon is on record as saying that bookings at their highest level ever this far ahead of the con. Get them in now kiddies.

saw Iron Man last night, very cool, gotta get the last 2 figs now, mk 2 and Iron Monger, although i did see on the back card a 'Stealth Op' Iron Man which is the spitting image of War Machine...looking ahead to the sequel perhaps?

edit: if anyone is near Enfield TRU, can they check if they have any TFA 2-packs in stock...im thinking of riding up there this afternoon

I love Dr Who, its brilliant, i have a few toys ,myself (mainly K-9 but hey), cant see why they are taking over tf space though. Street Racer was a game on the SNES, kinda like Mario Kart with real peole. You could use baseball bats etc to hit you opponents, and other stuff, was a crackin game, but i can see it as a movie myself. As for Iron Man, never a fan of his, in fact, i found his comics and cartoon pretty naff to be fair, however, loving the movie, really enjoyed it, just cant wait for hulk hellboy and wolverine now (gotta get me some deadpool goodness.)

Forbidden Planet now only seems to sell Payload, Swindle and Robot Replicas. And merchandise. I found a Ratchet AllSpark blaster, several bottles of Megatron bubble bath, three Optimus Prime heads, four Screen Battles. Although, it still has Classics 'tank' Megatron and Cliffjumper in stock...

well i just got back from TRU Enfield, and whilst they didnt have any out on the shelves i spotted a blue shirt lurking nearby, i asked him to check out back and he cam out with a fresh case, plus he had another case out back, so Enfield TRU had about 8 2-packs in stock

so frimal, your a s'ton fan are ya, well, looks like we did you a favour yesterday, whilst on the way to the premier, making sure leicester only got the one point.

Didnt think to ask the staff at shrewsbury, they are usually idiotic so didnt see much point in it, but ill check back in a week or two, checked on the tru website but there's nothing there. Seems wierd that they have them in store yet no sites have them online yet. Aint tfzone going to stock the animated toys??? I wouldve thought they would have the heads up on the mass release date
