this is something that takara should've done a while ago. not to mention it's a mold they could get a repaint out of.. and add more cassettes to jock up the price a bit. oh well.

Repaint potential for the molds is very high.

That's just the tapes. Soundwave himself can be reprinted into Soundblaster, Marvel colour Soundwave, toy colour Soundwave and Shattered Glass Soundwave. My my my, the potential is amazing.

That is just fan speculation of course but I would buy all of them, assuming quality was good of course. Of course that is just the repaints based on the teased molds. There are the potentials for other molds based on Ratbat (repaint into Wingthing), Beastbox and squawktalk, Overkill and Slugfest. Throw in Shattered Glass repaints and the company could live off this mold for years. Very intelligent of Takara not to go down the Masterpiece Soundwave road

Got to admit, this is looking pretty awesome.

I agree, the potential here is enormous.

I think its clear fans are okay with redecos of Soundwave and his crew, I know I am.

This should have been done already, but I'm 100% in on anything they can come up with. I would love, LOVE revamped, better molds of the cassettes, especially Squawk talk, Beast Box and Overkill and Slugfest. I truly do commend BTS for their attempts, even though I know some people are complaining about Ravage and Ratbat (I think they look quite good though and already pre-ordered them).

There's a lot to be done in the realm of G1 revisits, even for Tak/Has. If they're redoing the Combaticons, why not the Protectobots?

I like elements of both though. The newer more detailed one is a respectful highly detailed "classics" style upgrade while the earlier version is almost 100% G1.

Either way....i like em both. Now lets get this thing produced already!! Soundwave should have been done a long time ago.

I stopped collecting the MP line because of scale. I dont have enough coffee tables for stand alone figures that will never be a complete collection. Also, Im sick and tired of every classics style soundwave being made to hold G1 cassettes. I want something a bit smaller that can stand side by side with the perfect effect series. Right now I use United WFC Soundwave.

It might be more because of the tapes, none of which we've seen models of other than Laserbeak/Buzzsaw.

Actually can anyone confirm which tape that is inside the bay there in the one photo? I was pretty sure it was Ratbat, but the colors are all wrong...and I'm wary whether or not G1 tapes are going to work right with him before I pull the trigger on an aforementioned Ratbat...

Well managed to sort out what tape that is: it's the Gear of War Autoscout, meaning this badboy is still very G1-friendly!

Ummm.....I'm sorry, I need this statement clarified. You're sick of the characters most defining and popular feature being implemented into his figures? Wouldn't that be like saying "I'm sick of the Constructicons always being construction vehicles..."?

The REAL test is whether he can fit Classics Ravage in there. Thanks to the tail he's pretty tough to fit in new TF players. Sonicron won't work thanks to those nibs, and DL Blaster also has a tough time.

iGear's is also somewhat of a question since it has some rather thick parts.

Still ... I love the G1 compatability! Damn ... another TF I want. Does this go on the list? Oh, decisions, decisions ...

Oh wow, that's amazing. I can honestly say this is the first 3rd Party product in awhile that I can say I really want. I really hope it ends up being fairly affordable. Under $150 would be great. As for the colors, I'm okay if they do the cartoon scheme, as long as the blue isn't too light. But so far it just looks amazing. So much detail, the head sculpt is spot-on. Absolutely stunning.

MOLDING: SUPERIOR; FUNDING: INFERIOR
