They originally wanted to have Soundwave as we know him in the film, but the plot didn't accommodate him in the long run. Blackout, with Scorponok (like Soundwave's cassettes) was the replacement made. Frenzy I think was always going to be in it as an infiltrator, who was originally with Soundwave.

Also, Soundwave won't just be a "blue Frenzy" as Soundwave is both larger and more intelligent; more about deception than actual inflitration.

Starscream did escape, we see him in the credits, we never saw what happened to Barricade or Scorponok. Frenzy was cut in half by his own shuriken, so I think the ones put into the sea were Megatron, Brawl/Devastator, Blackout and probably Bonecrusher.

The more they avoid city robots like Metroplex and Trypticon the better, in my opinion.
Devastator sized robots are impressive enough, provided it's just 1 or 2 over two films.

I'd like to see a Triple-changer too, like Blitzwing, but with the realism they want with the transformations, it might not be possible.

soundwave wuz only bigger than frenzy in teh cartoon cuz frenzy had 2 fit in his chest az a tape, which iz prolly not gonna b teh case, since frenzy wuz a boom box, which wld b a g00d alt mode 4 soundwave. also note th@ i said hed b on ritalin, by which i meant th@ hed b more calm and contained

I don't think it would be that hard.

When they transform, about 80% of the exostructure gets sliced down into plates that either tuck inside or bend to accommodate the bot mode.

As a worst case scenario, the 2nd exostructure would show hints of the other exostructure.

Now, in the real wold, I believe ILM would strike if they had to sit there and figure out how to do it and make it look real.

They decided on putting Soundwave in the next sequel stating that they wanted to do him "correctly".

I said Ult. Mag. because I despise Hot Rod and Soundwave will most likely be in the second film anyway.

Yes, given they do break apart so much the technicality of the transformation might not be too hard. I was more considering the textures/weapons that might be correct for one alt mode but not the other.
And g2grimmy64, I wouldn't have thought they would make Soundwave so similar to something we've already seen. All of the robots have been correct to their cartoon size, shrinking Soundwave would be a first and most likely a huge offense to the fans.
I know the source isn't too good but IMDB has a quote from the producers they thought Soundwave would be an introduction to "mass shifting". Early days as to whether or not this means he's going to be the right size AND a boombox as well.

Ultra Magnus may be too similar to Optimus Prime at this point to introduce him, just a thought. I hope Hotrod isn't in it too!

i want to know what transformers movie were you watching cause what you just said did not have any fact or truth to it what-so-ever. oh and that many transformers in the next sequel....ummm...i dont think so...that would just be major over kill.

Really hard to choose which characters i most want to see in T2 but mainly the Dinobots, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Skywarp and Thundercracker. What say they throw in Death's Head too? :grin:

Let the constructicons rise - since they are the hottest selling TF on Ebay, Sam Witwicky's dad is working in a construction company. It will be a rock & let BAY & SPIELBERG think how they would bring the Dinobots back to counter the COnstructicons.
