Transformers have never faired well in the book department (comics aside), unfortunately. I've bought and read almost every book I'm aware of, and only one would I consider any good. IT was the collection of short stories called "Legends". Granted, they weren't all winners in there, but man, it had some real gems.
As a voracious reader, I'd love for there to be more Transformer novels. Good ones, at least.

Yes and no, personally. I am enjoying my rediscovered scifi passions, but I'm not entirely sure TFs really work outside of comics, given how much of their characterisation (in some ways, and it may only be to me) relies on visual cues. Cartoons, films, comics, toys - they're all visually *there*. A book, as much as prose can do, would have to do some very different things.
I dip into the fanfic that Transtopia offers every now and then, but I still have the visual frame of reference of everything else Transformers.

Well late as always, but I guess you saved me some monies this time on the covenant.
