Vehicles that deserve the transformers treatment

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

No, it was a black hole slightly outside the Transformers Universe, as are the Star Wars Transformers. If any official fiction acknowledges either of these, then we can start bitching about it for real. :P

Moving on, a snail or hermit crab transformer would probably be a nice way to get a beast-mode TF with either a combat deck style base or a super mode. Hell, they can even be a slug or a normal crab when separated from the shell... Which means for the snail, they could recycle the name "Slugfest" or "Slugslinger"

Dreamwave did an awsome Snail Transformer for the Silver Snail in Toronto. I tried finding a picture of it, but I can't find it. Mind you I didn't really look hard.

I tried sketching up my own Predacon-Human during a concert tonight.

Came out looking like a cross between Movie Frenzy and a WH40K Necron Flayer. Possibly the goriest looking TF I have ever designed.
Check out my books, Titanomachies and Divine Retribution, on my blog!

i could see him/them now... a superior mini-gestalt named sixpack who deconstructs similar to Devestator, but is an amazingly capable soldier as he began as one and latter gained the altmode army of six. His component parts would each be abouth the size of a minibot, making him perhaps a head taller than Grimlock.

Each peice of him would hold various aspects of his segmented whole. The upper torso would be the tactical leader, retaining the bulk of his intellgence. The lower torso would be similar to a fieldmedic, the second smartest of the group but not in the lines of combat. The legs would be resource transports, carring the bulk of supplies and strength. Then come the arms, each with an opposing combative style; they would be seige/blitz tactics heavy and the fastest of he group.

Individually they could represent parts of a small strike unit (likely making a better character division than i did). As a whole, they could challenge any non gestalt on equal footing. If you toss in 2 targetmasters and a powermaster you could rename the group Nebulos Nine. Add in a headmaster and there's no telling what the army of 10 could do...

I can't imagine a human alt.mode would fly with today's parents. It's a little too gross. Car parts on a robot are fine. Animals are okay, I suppose, because they're sort of cute and, well, we eat or wear them. But I can imagine Hasbro ending up in all sorts of drama if a child spends his playtime 'dissecting' human flesh and bones to reveal a robot underneath, or lifting off a human face to reveal the robot face.

But how would that work? how would a humanoid robot transform into a human? Would you have some bizzare way of turning the whole robot inside out to reveal clothes and fake hair on the inside?

I hadn't really thought about that, but when I mentioned the idea, I knew already that I wasn't the first one to think of this. Dave Van Domelin has already followed the idea through to its conclusion.

Nice shirt, Dave. :)

Do you ever remember seeing the Terminator 2 Playset where you would put the skeleton into a mould, cover it in a "goo" then wait a few hours until it solidified and turned into skin? I use to put Bludgeion and Skyfall in the chamber and give them "skin" to fool the others. It was essencially what you were desribing. Man the early 90s kicked ass.

EDIT: After a quick search over on the Hasbro website I managed to find a PDF of instructions of the Terminator 2: Bio-Flesh Regenarator

EDIT #2: When I read that, I can't help but hear Strongbad say "Teh Bio-Flesh RegenaratOR" hahaha

Sort of reminds me of an idea I want to see sometime. A transformable gestalt. Picture this. A space shuttle transformer consisting of the shuttle, the main fuel tank, the two side tanks, and a bay on the back that opens to reveal a mechanical manipulator claw and a sattelite. Now picture the shuttle being the main body of a robot, the sattleite the head, the main fuel tank the legs, the side tanks as the arms. Now picture all these components detaching and being able to transform themselves. thus you have sattelite to robot, big fuel tank to robot, shuttle to robot, and 2 side fuel tanks to 2 robots.

Kind of like G1 Omega but a little more gimmicky.

Or Tidal Wave. Or Magmatron. But yeah, basicly, the "Six Pack" idea was what I was thinking of (I'd have called him something more along the lines of Regiment though), but Chaos's idea would be even better if it was given the engineering it needed to work... It'd be a lot easier to do wrong, though.

I know an alt. mode that hasn't been done(unless it was mentioned on the first three pages):

A Segway.

On a more serious note, how bout a moth? Mothra(or rather, the cooler more sinsiter looking black version called Battra)is proof that moth's are pretty deadly.

The GI Joe Transformers from the GI Joe/TF crossover where Prime was a Hiss tank. Or the WW2 TF's.

Redesign the Star Wars TF's so they don't have Star Wars characters heads. Although Anakin and the that X-Xing pilot had reasonably Transformer-esque heads. No big Boba Fett and Vader heads though.

Wasn't G2 Clench a garbage truck.

What about more Counter Punch type TF's where they have a second robot mode they use to infiltrate the opposing factions?

Pretenders where the outer shell looks like other Transformers. Again for the purposes of cross faction infiltration. Imagine a Decepticon with an outer shell that resembled Optimus Prime.

A bucket-wheel excavator. He would probably be one of the most badass transformers ever, and would easily give guys like Omega Supreme and Trypicon a run of their money. He would probably be in the same size ballpark as Fortress Maximus.

In a similar, but smaller vein, a chain trecher would be cool, as it's basically a giant chainsaw. A tunnel boring machine would also be pretty sweet. Another cool transformation would be a howitzer.

And while these exit, there aren't many muscle cars, pickups, steam locomotives, and boats. An Ocean Liner or battleship would be awesome.

Also, there aren't many objectformers like Megatron and Soundwave. Reflector is the only camera I know of, and he's fairly obscure. I always thought a transformer that became a computer would be cool. Or a TV.

Well, there's Cybertron Metroplex, and Armada Buzzsaw.... Those count?

Thanks for bringing up Chain Trenchers though, I tried to describe them earlier in the thread, and failed horribly. Now I know what they're called!

I didn't really follow the Unicron Trilogy, I basically know G1, G2 and BW. I pretty much missed all the cartoons and toylines from BM to Cyb. I'm not terribly well versed in the more recent stuff, except for Alts, Masterpeice and Classics.

Yeah Cyb Metroplex counts, I just kinda forgot about him. Buzzsaw... that's kinda debatible... he's a mini-con, and a bucket-wheel excavator is the largest land vehicle ever made... that's like a micromaster Fort Max. =p

I had an idea for an update of the pretenders concept too. Picture this. A small transformer, maybe bumblebee sized, with a realistic alt mode. It's outer shall is also a transformer. Basicly the pretender shell is not so much a disguise as it is a way to let smaller transformers interact and compete with larger ones as equals.

Hmm, intersting...

I'm thinking of another odd update for Pretender technology... Instead of a shell, the Pretender component splits into pieces, forming Super Mode style armor. HEnce, Bludgeon can now be a tank and a skeleton without needing to be a shrimpy tank.

Or REVERSE Pretenders, where the robot is the shell, and the spark can be jetissoned inside a mock-organic inner component.

Actully, they did a couple hummers, but they were European exclusives, which is probably why you never knew about them:

http://www.tfu.info/1995/Autobot/IronhideEur/ironhide.htm

http://www.tfu.info/1992/Autobot/Ironfist/ironfist.htm

Ironfist is a mold that should have come over in Machine Wars or Universe. I like the look of it.
