FYI ... I'm aware of the errors this afternoon with accessing the site. i'm trying to track down the 503 errors that some of you are getting when the server gets hammered by spiders like Google, Bing, Amazon, Yandex, etc. I've been working on this problem since last night around when I last posted in this thread in response to megatran. These 503 errors are incredibly frustrating. At least now they only happen when the server is getting hammered and it runs out of resources. Trying to fine tune it so that this doesn't happen.

Database query failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near '.title AS series_title FROM sighting_items si INNER JOIN tf_series c ON si....' at line 6

I keep getting Kremzeek warnings when clicking the "View the newest post since your last visit:" links in my email notifications.

The other "View the topic:" and "View the forum:" links work fine, but the first just takes me to Kremzeek.

And this is only happening on my laptop. Clicking the same link from the email on my phone works just fine.

EDIT: And now immediately after posting this, I get another Kremzeek when using the Back button to go back to the page I was on before I entered this thread to report this problem.

Can you forward me an email that you received? I am unable to replicate the issue. Maybe it's for a specific topic or a topic that has special characters in the title or something? Something else is going on with that issue.

The only thing I can think of in that scenario is that your laptop has a bad cached page and you might need to clear out the cache in your browser, especially if it is working on your phone but not your laptop. Could be something else, but that would be my first instinct.

Which back button? The one in your browser or is there one in the forums?

I really appreciate that and I'm sure ScottyP and the rest of the Twincast crew will appreciate hearing that as well, molleking!

I've got more changes and fixes coming to the sightings section as time allows. I'm updating code first and then will be implementing more modern functionality at a later date. And trying to figure out what to do with all of the bad store data and closed store chains.

When a video is embedded in a thread. If I hold my phone in portrait mode, they look cropped. They do play normally.

For the past few days or so, the site has been running incredibly slow for me, with pages taking much longer than normal to finish loading. And it's only on this site. Other websites I visit load like normal, so it's only Seibertron.com rather than the whole internet in general.

Same. I've even had the web site time out so hard just awhile ago that Firefox complained it couldn't find the server.

As an update, it's since gone back to normal on my end.

Ugh. So I'm now on the other side of an almost 6 hour ordeal that brought Seibertron.com down after running an incredibly routine command on the server to update some things. Long story short, when I rebooted Seibertron.com's web and database servers, my server host applied new rules they implemented last year to my server's which required me to setup a private network for my two servers. Since the database server has really strict settings because it only allows the web server to communicate to it, it took a while to figure out that it was blocking the private server connection. Lots o' fun. I had no idea this was the case and am bewildered at where things took me over the past 6 hours trying to resolve this ordeal. Wow. So here we are. The web and database server now are basically communicating to each other at LAN speeds now. Not at all how I thought my day was going to go. Sorry for the downtime.

On the plus side, I went for a run today instead. Fingers crossed the site technical issues are behind us.
