Chances are even if we tidied this up and it was stickied, it would be ignored by new members anyways.

I don't think that weight has to do with it, look at, Primus, Unicron, Omega Supreme, and SupremeStarscream.

It's not weight, it's how large of pieces it shatters into, how sharp and small they are, can they be dangerous.
That's why we get joints that pop off, etc., so there is not a splintering effect going on causing dangerous sharp parts.

The Mustang Saleen is basically made from six cylinder Mustangs. They come off the assembly line and Saleen trashes the six cylinder engine and installs their own 281 C.I. engine and all the other modifications(seats, gauges, stripes, etc)
While this may be true with older body styles, the current Saleen Mustang is made from a Deluxe Mustang GT w/ a spoiler delete option.
I own a 2006 Mustang GT Premium. I had to settle for a Premium package because every deluxe that I found had already been converted into a Saleen. (Even though inventory listed it as a regular deluxe GT with a spoiler delete.)
After going through that same scenario 10 times I just gave up and got the Premium GT with a spoiler.
Most of the previous generation Saleens were equipped with a stock GT motor, but had buku suspension/exhaust/body kit upgrades. There were the Stage 3+ ones ... with a supercharger. My guess is that they were an ideal candidate for a 6 cylinder base vehicle. No point in ripping apart a GT motor to upgrade with a supercharger. Too much extra work there.
Anyway, my point is that we're probably both correct.
That's a sweet mach 1 you got there. Verah nice!

Damn straight. Hate to say it but these sorts of threads prove pointless and half the time they're put together by people who are too impatient to simply answer a new person out.
But hey, good luck to ya's.

Q: Where is the best place to find out Transformers Comics info?
A: You can try the Comics section here on Seibertron, or even tfarchive.com. Both have listings of who appeared in waht, while tfarchive has a run down or of all the Marvel G1/G2 Comics as well as reviews of the newer DW and IDw comics.
Q: What do you guys think about "particular figure"
A: Chances are that some of us will like it, and others will not. The opinion that truly matters is your own. Use Ryan's toy Galleries to see if you like the look of the figure.
Don't be afraid to ask question about figures though, board members are here to help, and they will help you from getting figures that truly are not worth your time and money, they will let you know if certain figures have issues that are not apparent from the galleries.
Q: Who is this figure?
A: If you are unsure of what a particular figure is, you can always try sites like tfu.info to help identify figures. Again though, board members are here to help, so ask away if you cannot find the figure on tfu.info, or dont have the figure in hand to identify.

Also many figures in Ryan's gallery have reviews by board members here. You can read those to get an idea of what the figure is like

Q: How do I search if search doesn't work?
A: Use google!
Just use the "site" option. For example, when I was researching Masterpiece Megatron, I entered:
site:www.seibertron.com masterpiece megatron
It works great!

Great advice on using a search engine to find the information when the search is down on here.

The reason this thread is so important and can help people IMO is the complete lack of a competent search engine. Is it broken or something?
If you were to put "MP Skywarp" or "Masterpiece Skywarp" in the search engine, NOTHING comes up! Even though we all know there are TONS of threads on the subject!

I got a n00b question that I should know the answer to, but don't...
@ me.
Was there ever a G1 Unicron? Not the Armada, or his black repaint... Or that pathetic excuse of "deluxe class" Unicron. But an actual, 2010 movie Unicron toy?

There was a prototype figure made back in 1985 for the Movie. But there was never an actual release of it.

There was also a second attempt by Takara when it released its Beastwars Neo line. But also never saw a release.
Pics of prototypes can be seen here:

What online stores can one generally trust for good service, shipping, and/or prices?
The site sponsor shops are all highly recommended. ToyWave, ActionHQ, and BIG BAD TOY STORE are the most common.
Others that people have used with varying degrees of success are TFSource, Entertainment Earth, Ages3andUp, and Bill's Toys and Games.
Again, results will vary, but the rave is usually saved for BBTS for customer service, although prices can be high on items. A great pre-order system, as well as, the 'pile of loot' option, allowing you to save on shipping are other nice features of the store.
How do I change the description with my avatar?
The description changes based on the number of posts you make. Keep in mind spamming is frowned upon, so make smart, thought out posts, and you will find your count grows quickly, and your 'description' changes often.
Generally it changes with every 100 posts, but when you reach a certain amount it's every thousand, 1500, or more.
Minicon, Minibot, fuzor, gestalt leader, combiner, city commander, godmaster, god of transformers, and guardian of Seibertron are but a few examples.
Why is it spelled 'Seibertron' and not 'Cybertron'. Who's the genius who can't spell?
Well, believe it or not, it is spelled that way on purpose, Seibertron is the japanese name for the home planet of our favorite bots.
The site owner was actually unable to purchase 'Cybertron' as a domain name, it was gone, so he went with the next viable option...pretty smart, huh? And he's a very good speller too1

I posted this a few days ago, but I feel it belongs here too:
DECISION MAKING AND YOU: WHAT SHOULD YOU BUY?
We seem to be getting a lot of "I've got money, which figure should I buy?" type of threads lately. I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread for this type of question.
There are basically three variables you want to take into consideration when deciding between two or more figures when your funds are too limited to buy them all.
Availability: Is one of the figures harder to find than the other? Common sense dictates that all else being equal, you are often better off getting the harder to find figure first. Of course, if the hard-to-find figure is only hard to get because it was recently released, you may have to consider the shelf life of the product instead. Rather than basing your decision on current avalibilty, it may be a good idea to weigh how likely you are going to find that figure in the future. For example, Concept Camaro Bumblebee will be released in future waves and sets. However, G1 redeco Jazz will only see a one time release and is exclusive to one chain of stores. If one of the figures you want is at the end of its release cycle and one is just starting out, it may be a better idea to get the older figure first.
Value: You know your own budget better than anyone else. What can you afford? You can save up for the big figure, or buy a few of the smaller ones. Consider which figure offers the most value to you. If both figures you're considering are part of the same release wave and you like them both equally, I would generally lean towards buying the more expensive one first unless you're anticipating a sale of some kind. Chances are if you have the money for the expensive one now, you should act on it. Saving up for the less expensive one should, ideally, take less time. Before you know it, you'll have both.
What do YOU want? I believe that most posters asking which figures they should get are really seeking out popular opinion on the figures in their basket. This is fine, but in the end what matters most is fulfilling your own desire. Think about what you are looking for in a figure. Are you trying to complete a line or a predetermined set of characters? Are you interested in the transformation, or future value of the figures? There are many mixed reasons why one person would buy one figure over another. Find your reason and go with it.
Now, the intent of this thread is for everyone who has advice about this kind of dilemma to discuss their decision-making strategies here. Whether or not everyone feels like doing that remains to be seen, but if you feel like contributing your own methods of making this kind of decision, or if you are faced with this problem and are looking for some help in making the decision, this is the place for you.
* Note - the idea for this thread and some of the content was borrowed from a similar thread posted by Draykov on http://www.fbtb.net (a Star Wars Lego site).
