Beast Wars Classics

The more I think about it, the more I realize we need to get some BW characters in Classics, or a line like it. Many of the characters in BW didn't get a decent toy that truely reflected the character and their abilities. Look at Blackarachnia. Her original toy was nothing like her. Which is why I'm glade they have her in Animated. If they were to give her her old black and gold color scheme, all the better.

Airazor is another bot that never had a good toy. Something between her TM and club exclusive would be really cool.

Rhinox. His original toy sucked. He didn't even have his guns. He had a 1 saw weapon that looked like his gun, but he couldn't hold it that way. His TM form was much cooler, but he still didn't have any guns, just some little scythe thing. Make his TM toy bigger, add a couple machine guns, and keep the old chest which I liked, that would be my Classics Rhinox.

Cheetor and Tigatron I would NOT like to see as repaints of each other. But the truth is if Hasbro was to do a Classics BW line, they would be repaints. Oh, and I suppose the\ld eventually do a Ravage repaint too. Even though their cat bodies are different shapes, they have slightly different heads, and Tigatron is much taller than Cheetor. There have been alot of cat molds over the years, but it would be interesting to see what they could do with such a mode that hasn't already been done with it.

Dinobot is another character whose toy looked nothing like him. And all his other toys were pretty bad too. It would really cool if Hasbro made a new Dinobot toy. When was the last time we had a raptor TF? Exactly. Even a repaint of BW 10th Ann Megatron or Classics Grimlock in Dinobots colors would be nice.

The rest of the cast may not have any major issues, but I'd still like to see them redone. And they can always be repainted. Just coping what they did with the original molds would net them at least 2 repaints a piece. Terrorsaur/Fractyl/Laserbeak/Swoop. Rattrap/Packrat. Scorponok/Sanstorm/Double Punch/(Quickstrike?). Waspinator/Buzzsaw/(Starscream?).

Hey, I completely agree with you, but it ain't gonna happen.

The origional BW toys where close, but far from acurate to the show. Thank God the TransMetals and Fuzors fixed that(wow, amazing show likeness with great amounts of detail, take that Animated).

Now trust me, I'd love to see some updates, even though I hate the repaint idea(why does every new fan idea seem to initaly cater to Hasbro's laziness). However, with Beast Wars 10th still slightly lingering, Robot Masters, and Beast Wars Returns....

It's still just to soon.

Granted I wish Hasbro would import some of the Takara remake/retools, but either way, with them floating around, the love for Beast Wars that you seek will be neglected.

Sorry, and trust me, I'm distrought this truth as I hate paying import prices.

I don't think toy engineering technology has advanced as radically this past decade as it did in the decade between G1 and the start of Beast Wars. As much as improved versions would rock, I'm not sure if they could make better versions of those mold (at least not at the more limited deluxe scale.)

oh wow, now this is how we roll man.

totally agree with these ideas, though some of the BW molds were perfect for the character they represented.

maybe the first era BWs didn't have that much going in the way of accuracy, but the TM, Fuzor and TM2 line totally blew that away. even the RobotMasters gave us the scale-(near) accurate Primal and Megatron.

i concur that the tech divide between G1 and BW was huge, and still hasn't been surpassed by any tech improvement between two successive TF lines today. heck, there's even a regression in terms of poseability factors when we consider RID going to Armada.

Automorph? Beast Wars already had that more than a decade ago, and they put it on Basic-sized figs. their Automorph was also much more durable. the auto action still smoothly works on my Rattrap, Armordillo, Iguanus and other BW basics even today. TFTM can't beat that.

i guess what we need are more show-accurate versions of some of the BW deluxes issued to us back then. i'd love Blackarachnia to be slimmer and more feminine-like than the Tarantulus repaint it was 10 years ago. Beast Wars Classics, anyone? B-)

though i see Liege's point. with 10th anni not even a few years old, and the Japanese releases not far behind, i doubt that Has/Tak would even entertain the idea of applying the Classics/Universe 2.0 treatment to BW characters.
