Captain America: The big wimp

Oh hell yes that title is meant seriously, but read my post before you comment "ZOMg fail thread Captain Americans is teh pwner!"

I don't really mean him as a character as he's kind of a good character, not as good as Spider-Man, Venom, DeadPool, Ghost Rider or Carnage but not too shabby if you catch my drift.

I'm talking about his movie, the one from 199 something and yes I'm aware of the fact that there are two from the 70's and a few shows and that there's going to be another one next year. So I recently had the "enjoyment" of seeing it and man does it suck and especially Cap. In this it is the Italians that are the great big evil doers instead of the Germans (not that I'm not aware of Hitler and Mussolini being allies for most of WWII) and yes the Red Scull is also Italian. Put my beef isn't with that strange change or with Cap just saying "Nazies" after being cut out of the ice by a couple of Germans, it's the fact that he sucks so much in this film, the President appears far more bad-ass than him! In this film he's pretty much a shallow character wearing the US's flag who constantly gets his ass handed out to him. throughout the film he just does one, one awesome thing and that's killing a tiny little Nazi hit-man by trowing him into a primitive computer after getting shot a few times.
It kinda makes you think, "Wow these people created a living symbol of what their country stands for and they screw it up so much that he fails at almost everything he does, what the hell did they smoke?"

I thought they just made that movie so they could keep the rights to it. Or was that the original original Fantastic 4 movie. I heard it was kinds of fail either way.

I didn't think Nick Fury was too bad. Well, once you accept it as a low budget movie anyway. It's somewhat comic accurate anyway.

As for Cap 90's, ok, that one is an ouch. It's been a long time since I watched it, but I remember it being boring.

Of course, Cap was made when comic-book movies were still very low key, so it's a product of it's time.
