Deluxe Concept Bumblebee - Finally.

Postby mineralblue » Sun Sep 30, 2007 10:04 am

So after last week's major restock, I finally got my hands on some concept BBs... one to keep MISB, one to give as a gift, and one to open and toy around with...

I had been collecting movie TFs up to this point, but I had been keeping them MISB... but with the restock, I was finally able to get extras to open up and toy with...

and the first one I chose to finally open was concept BB...

Having finally had an opportunity to open up the package and transform him I must say I am very impressed with how well he transforms from Camaro to robot... I love his articulation and I love how his cannon/sword stores neatly away under the Camaro... I am very impressed with how much he looks like the movie version as well...

Keep in mind that I have only recently gotten back into TF collecting... prior to the movie line, the only TFs I have recently had on my shelf were G1 Prime, G1 Jetfire, and G1 Sideswipe... (although my little brother got into Beast Wars for a short time... his Magnaboss was pretty bad ass... what with Ironhide as an elephant)

I must say I love the amount of engineering and thought that has been put into the newer generation of TFs... I actually prefer the more complex transformations and welcome them as a challenge... I now see them as more than mere toys but almost like a Rubik's cube or puzzle piece to be solved... long gone are the days when all you had to do was stand a car on it's tail, pull out legs and arms and fold the front end down to make a robot... well if you did want that I suppose you could get a FAB or a cyber slammer... :P

I agree, I love the more intricate transformations myself. Like little puzzle boxes.

I can only somewhat agree here.. Although I do enjoy a challenge figs like Move Ironhide are truly a pain in the ass and frusturatin as hell to transform.. So I will half agree with you anyway :P

same here, except the toy that is a major pain to me is concept camaro bb. might just be poor quality control, but getting his left leg to line up with his arms and shoulders so that the door can close is too much of a chore for me.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Lucky bugger! It's terrible to dig through restocked pegs and feel your heart leap as you see a flash of yellow, only to let it sink as you note the '74 Camaro inside the bubble

leg? my main obstacle has been ensuring the arms are turned the right way so they fit properly within the cabin... but that's been my fault more than anything...

Weapon: Thermal Melters
He is one of the best in the TFM line.
BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

I really love mine, but I have to disagree about complex transformations being better. I get so angry when I sit there trying to move a piece or study the instructions, which can be really frustrating. But I guess it adds to the satisfaction when you're done. Too bad most of mine are turned into robots and never turned back....

Indeed. The long wait is worth it. I also waited 3months for my Concept BB.

It's a little funny and frightening at the same time when your wife picks up Bumblebee and attempts to transform him on her own... only to pop off an arm and go... oops.

Myyyyyy, Bumblebee....what Big Balls you have...

The Concept BB is just plain complex. I like it. But it's so complex, that even the dumbed-down FAB Concept BB is complex.

Oh yes... those pesky shoulder caps... I'll hold off on super gluing anything until they no longer want to stay on... at this point those caps pop off due to me not having the arms positioned correctly during transformation.

If you truly feel this way, then i would personally recommend that you also take a look at the Robots In Disguise line, as well as the Alternators and Masterpiece line.
