Detailed Optimus Prime G1 KO pics...

I know this is kind of beating a dead horse as some will never accept this kind of thing but I though I’d post pics of my KO Prime I recently got from eBay (yes I opened it, I figured what the hell). I was surprised to see how accurate it was figuring it was a KO.

In box:

All included parts (everything there and accounted for, including rubber tires, accurate decals and instruction book):

They even included a heat sensitive rub sticker that I “activated" and took a picture of (no, those aren't chips in the paint, it's light reflecting off of it):

I compared this to my TF collector’s book and this thing is really a good KO…everything is where it should be and all pieces are actually made well. I know this is fuel to the fire but for $60 I paid I couldn’t be happier.

Why didn't you get the Encore version? Same price and its an authentic reissue.

Depends on where you buy it the real deal.
BBTS has them for close to 90 plus shipping. not a good deal.
In any case it looks really good for a KO.

I can't stand the packaging for that one...

I basically want something to display in my "game/toy" room and the encore Prime looks like crap, the tie wraps holding it in place look like garbage imho.

I did however get the encore Megatron and Starscream...they are really nice.

KOs rock! The box actually looks like G1, it has rubber tires, a rubsign that wasn't applied by a blind person, no twist ties, and no short stacks! What more could one want?

is there a way to distinguish it from the real thing? The wear and tear on the box could make it look like something that survived pretty well over the past 20 years.

There is a minor variance in the box window shape between the real deal and this KO.

On the Hasbro version, the box window has a tiny ridge to expands the window to show more of the trailer.

Care to enlighten us as to the quality of the actual figure though?

Having all the accessories is all well and dandy, but what are his joints like? What about the stickers? Stress marks? (Because looking at the heat sensitive pic the area around his feet looks stressed, but it could be the light reflecting as you said)

I hate that people need to educate themselves on KOs just to buy from the vintage market.

I know waaay more than I would like to about KOs, not because I own them, but because I want to avoid them.
