Hi all!
I'm going through "new TF withdrawl" and am eagerly awaiting the announcement of the full line-up of Universe/Classics 2.0 figures. In the meantime, I'm debating about buying a few G1 figures to display alongside my classics figures to fill in some key gaps - mainly Jazz and Hound.
So, before I drop some serious coin on these two figures, I want to know if they will look "right" sitting beside Classics Bumblebee, Prime, et al?
Opinions, please....
Do you display G1 figs alongside Classics?

You can if you want to. Finding a G1 Jazz in good shape can be difficult along with being spendy. Hound can be easier to find than Jazz in terms of the condition of the figure. In terms of Classics, I currently do not have any.

Hound and Jazz will look too small compared to the Classics figures. Not terribly, but they would be out of scale.

My lack of space means I display everything together. So, G1 to Alts to Classics, it's all a chaoitc mixx-up.

All my favorites are displayed together on my desk. I have Classics next to Armada. Energon next to Titanium. Movie next to Universe. They don't like to be segregated!

I have my Autobot Classics displayed by themselves, but I have my decepticon Classics mixed in with some G1.

I sometimes like displaying Classics with their G1 counterparts. Some of them look quite good side by side. Also entertaining is Buddy Magnus: MP Magnus claps a hand on G1 Magnus' shoulder and gives us a big thumbs up.
Classics can only supplement a G1 collection, even if you're only going with early and significant characters. I'd just fill up the G1 line, myself.

In my opinion, no, G1 figures do not look good next to Classics. G1 is the "before" and Classics are the "after", but they do not look good together since everything G1 is so brick while the Classics are far more articulated and in relative scale.
Other than displaying my Masterpieces & Alternators with each and adding MP3 Soundwave to my Classics Decepticons, I generally do not mix lines that are obviously different from another as a rule. In fact, one of my biggest pet peeves about some collections is the haphazzard way people just throw any figures/lines together with no rhyme or reason :)
