Do you want to see more female Transformers?

Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Do you want to see more female Transformers?

Postby Raymond101 » Sun Dec 23, 2007 3:47 am

I don't want to sound like a sad old pervert. But I think this is a good question. As far as I know for most recent TF lines there were two female TF's, for Cybertron there was Thunderblast and Override and if you collected Galaxy Force Override wouldn't count anyway. In the movie line we have a new deluxe Arcee as well as two repaints of Energon Arcee, so there's also only one, although I guess you could count two.

I think there could be more molds for Transforming femmes. I thought Thunderblast was cool and I like movie Arcee, so there's potential for different vehicles, different weapons, different style etc.

i suppose that the reason for the vast gulf in the ratio of male to female tf's is due to the shows, if you look at the cartoons they are extreamly rare and in the new movie non exsistant. The problem seems to be whenever the question of where all the female transformers are turns up the question of why a completely robotic culture needs two sexes also rears its ugly head....

I'd personally be more than willing to see an increase of female tf's particulally on the cons - evil females can be done sooooo well.

I dont really care either way, though it has to be said the sheer unbalanced nature of the sexes in tf shows with both sexes raises a couple of eyebrows...

On your first point, I agree, and because of that I want to see more females. That will more likely lead to female TF toys. And that question why an advanced robot civilization needs to sexes? I say give the character designers a break. They design characters. They're not meant to speculate on the possibility of Cybertronian sexual selection or the possibility of Cybertronian sexuality. Maybe it's because it's all damn fiction. Let the philosophers do the hard work, in the end Transformers is all about entertainment, and I'm suggesting that more (well-designed) female Transformers like deluxe movie Arcee or Beast Wars Blackarachnia would add to this fun. Oh and Animated Blackarachnia! I forgot about her. :-B

No Fembots!!!!!!!!

I, for one can't stand fembots. Who's idea was it anyway to put high heels on the toys? They can't stand up, they don't have big guns. So what is the point!

I dunno its not a bad idea, but when they try to give them to much of a girlish look they turn out looking stupid. I mean whats the point of a robot with bewbies ya know?

I think if they just stuck to a head that might be more girl like then left the body looking more robot like it would be ok then.

Yes. I mean Barbie has Ken. Why can't Transformers fans have proper Elita-One's, Arcee's, Chromia's and Minerva's? It just makes sense.

Asking the designers for robot modes that look good is enough pressure, let alone robot modes that look feminine.

yeah.

They also don't have to be ultra-feminine sexi-bots with perky tits and pink colouring. How about something a bit more matronly. Like a lunch-lady Doris type bot.

And given the large absence of female characters, some transformers are going to have to go gay. To confuse things further, how about some more androgynous characters, where it could be male or female. The repaint potential would be awesome.

I think there are a few that could be either sex already, The G1 seekers for instence have intakes that could be seen as breasts (heck the French thought Starscream was a woman, im not entirly sure they were wrong :P) and another example is Cyb override, who I think was a good choice of tf for a female charecter.

The problem with female charecters is their limitations. In a toy line made mainly for boys, its hard to make a charecter not look male without pink paint, Lola Ferrari breasts and a very human looking head (has there EVER been a female charecter with a visor or face plate?). Until those problems are sorted out (and I cant say I think they would be sorted out, or that it really matters) you are gonna have to live with a severly reduced female charecterbase for the time being.

I would love to see more femmes. I don't care if they're Arcee repaints or whatever. I'm a huge femme fan, and they'd be neat to see. Oh and just so a flame war doesn't erupt, could we maybe stop the discussion on robot sexuality? People tend to get very bitchy about said topic....

I am all for more female transformers, hell Black Arachnia is one of my favorite characters to come out of the transformers. I'm very excited shes making a return in Animated for that reason. I don't really care about the debates on Transformer Sexuality.. yes they're robots.. but they're robots that have shown the ability to express emotion so...why not also love? (and I'm not talking physical here.) I vote for more fembots, especially the types like Black Arachnia that can hang with the boys and hold their own, even best them.

I think a robot having a gender is a wee bit corny, but being the way I am, I would love more female Transformers, especially if they could work something similar to mini-con ports into them.

I really could care less if we got more or less female transformers.

I'm fine with what we get, and what we get is usually one or two females transformers per line.

If I can recall in the last few lines:

Armada: Airazor, and countless mini-cons
Energon: Arcee
Cybertron: Thunderblast, Override, and countless mini-cons
Movie: Arcee
Animated: Black Arachnia + ?

This is news to me. Transmetal Blackarachnia and Energon Arcee have stood up on my shelf just fine on their own.

That said, hells yeah, give us more chickbots. :)

Hell yes, more females for the coming lines!

On the issue of robots needing to have genders. Well, I can see why it was done, but at the same time I doubt they need to have sexual relations in order to make new TFs.

Perhaps it's just an aesthetic thing where some prefer to be masculine, and others like to be feminine?

I am happy with the quality of the older transformers. I purchased the elita one and arcee within the last month and both are made with cheapo plastic and the transformations stink. I think I am going to return all the recent transformers that I have purchased in the last month that I have not opened. Anyway, I do not care for fembots especially when they are wimpy. Give me big guns on a fembot and make her equal with megatron, then we have something worth making.

I would love to see more female characters because bringing the other sex in offers something in characters and character development that Transformer storylines generally lack.

Cartoon Network has already said they want more females in the show. Reason being it does draw in girl fans as they can pick their favorites. They all don't have to be pretty pink princesses either. By adding female transformers the brand can bring in another demographic and will increase the line as a whole.

beyond that who care why they are there, just that they are there is a good first step. Bring in the variety.

Everything comes down to money and not quality. I am female and love the male banter. Females ruin that banter. Who wants robot relationships? If they bring in fembots than get rid of the humans. The humans were there for the relationship aspect. Maybe it is men that want fembots. Then let there be a separate show with only fembots. Keep them separate or else equal with no relationships.

females only ruin that banter if they're whiny, bitchy, cowardly or or all three. Even Thunderblast/Chromia who was a coward, I enjoyed her presence in the Galaxy Force show. Done well, it could be cool.

If I'm not mistaken somewhere I read that a few people were saying how their partners/sisters/female relations were asking 'Where's the girl' during the 2007 movie. I myself as a guy want more female bots. Not for it's own sake, of course, but for females to be done as well as those like Blackarachnia.

We'll just have to see if the Blackarachnia of Animated will live up to her predecessors namesake!

Yeah, if I remember correctly there was a thread on here awhile ago discussing like how tfs would reproduce, and it erupted into this huge flame war between Tramp and Damolisher.

Also the whole notion, "gay" transformers (although they wouldn't really be gay if they're supposed to be genderless now would they?) is pretty unpopular.

Wasn't really implying that they should add relationships, just some female bots. No real attraction for me just a different dynamic that female characters can bring to stories.
