Ok, so here we go. The original G1's versus their Armada counterparts. Both fighters can use any weapon/ability they have.
Ok so here are the combatants:

G1 Wheeljack vs Armada Wheeljack (yea, he's a Decepticon)

G1 Sideswipe vs Armada Side Swipe

G1 Smokescreen vs Armada Smokescreen

G1 Red Alert vs Armada Red Alert

and Finally,

G1 Hoist vs Armada Hoist ( a rebuilt Smokescreen)

you decide who wins.

I'm surprised that I'm stating this, but the majority of those victories would go to the Armada versions.

In fact, it is my belief that only G1 Sideswipe would defeat the Armada and the rest of the matches would go to the Armada versions.

All Armada, except Sideswipe and Smokescreen, because Armada Side Swipe sucked and G1 Sideswipe didn't, and G1 Smokescreen lived up to his name, and was more intelligent than Armada Smokescreen.

I'll go with all the Armada Bots except Sideswipe, who was an exaggerated boob. G1 Sideswipe wins that one.

The only G1 Autobots that win are Sideswipe and Smokescreen (I reckon he can pull it off).

Going off the list, it seems to me that the Armadabots are all fighters, whereas the Autobots have a mix of different functions. Maybe that's not true, but the Armadabots looked like more capable warriors in their series.

Yep, that's why I didn't orginally state that G1 Wheeljack would win. I immediately think of the Shockblast Cannon in "Heavy Metal War".

I agree Predaprince. I was thinking wheeljack is more likely to invent something to take his counterparts down and out for the count than hoist as hoist is less likely to make a weapon. Sure considering Wheeljack is more likely to make a weapon that will backfire than Hoist kind of balances it out though.

Then your probably right guys and they are both as likely to make effective weapon to take there counter parts out

G1 Wheeljack is pretty badass judging from his recent IDW appearance. He's got weapons designed to incapacitate his opponents.

Armada Wheeljack has his dustbusters of doom.

I recon this fight could go either way.

G1 Sideswipe vs Armada Side Swipe

G1 Sideswipe, no contest, that guy is on par with his sociopath brother.

G1 Smokescreen vs Armada Smokescreen

Happend in the universe comics, Armada Smokescreen won.

G1 Red Alert vs Armada Red Alert

You kidding? Armada Red Alert should be renamed into "nanny-bot", that guy is going down faster then Animated Starscream after Megs got his body back.

G1 Hoist vs Armada Hoist

G1 Hoist is no pushover, but Armada Hoist will take this in the end (though he'll get really hurt in the process).

Armada can just slap on loads of Minicons, become superpowered and win.

G1 Smokescreen could win this on his own because of his electro-disruptor rifle. He could just shut down all the Armada bots in one sweep.

Since there's nothing prohibiting Minicons, Armada wins I guess.
