Good, Cheap, American?

Weapon: Liquid Flame-Thrower
So my girlfriend's going to New York next week and has offered to buy me a tranformer while she's there. It's not that I don't trust her judgement, but thought it might be wise to at least give her some advice on what to look for, or even if there is anything to look for at the moment. Her budget will probably be $10-15, maybe 20 at a push, considering the exhange rate. Is there anything available in the US now that isn't out in UK that's worth picking up for that kind of price?

All the recommendations in the world won't help if we don't know what you already have or are at least interested in? :D

Assuming you are talking current release, the movie line is out. I recommend Ironhide if she can find it. That is $20.

A good point well made :P I meant to put that stuff in but went out of my head when when I saw the big shiny 'submit' button. I don't have very much really, mostly Cybertron Scouts, Legends and a few Titaniums, plus some micromasters and mini-cons lying about, and one or two deluxes from the movie and Classics. What I'm really into at the moment are Real Gears- I have Longview Wire Tap V20 and Spy Shot 6. I'm into pretty much anyhting, though the (non-real gear) movie toys are not my favs, though I'm aware there's not much else about at the moment.

For $20 you could get about 4 new Real Gears figs. High Score and Meantime are my current favorites.

Any Movie Deluxe that she can get that you don't already have is probably worth it. They are a lot cheaper. Twenty bucks gets you two.

Personally, I think any deluxe you can get is worth having. Even the duds are pretty good. They all have their redeeming qualities.

You might want to look at some of the exclusives on offer, as they likely won't show up this side of the atlantic. There were a few I wanted, my only choice is ebay, and I've done without. But they're all repaints anyway, so hardly a necessity.

I would have her pick up First Strike Optimus Prime.
