I came across this Australian article today about ticket scalping and it reminded me of some other discussions here about toy scalping. It is an interesting read about fans fighting back.

Typical New South Wales newspaper ... completely ignores the fact that Queensland have had anti-scalping laws (aimed primarily at event tickets) in place for nearly a year.

Hey it mentions the Northern and Southern Neighbours:

Scalpers have been profiting from in-demand concerts for years at the expense of genuine fans, but aside from minor legislation in Victoria and Queensland, which only covers a small selection of events, little has been done to limit them

I'm all for stopping the sale of tickets above face value (bar for Charity), and I like Cricket Australia's method of cancelling any tickets sold over face value on ebay, and then re-selling them to fans legally for face value.

I'm against putting names on tickets, what happens if they are a gift for someone, or someone cannot make the concert due to illness, other plans???

I won 4 tickets to see a car race. I had 3 including myself going. So I was trying to *give* the ticket away. someone gave me 10 bucks for it. I tried to give it to them and they insisted.
