Is the Energon Grimlock & Swoop 2-Pack worth it???
I'm about to get Energon Grimmy and Swoop. Are they good figures, and are they worth picking up? I love how Grimlock is extreamly G1-esq in some looks, but especially transformation(as I can tell from pics). I'd love some feedback from people who own or have have used him.

They were worth the $18 I paid for them.
They're rare and kind of a modern TF collecting status buy, but they aren't such great figures to be honest.

I had this set put away to the side years ago. Then when the movie came out my son really got into transformers so I let him open it up. I must say that I was extremely disappointed with the set. Grimlock is decent but the Swoop should be named Poop. If you grab the set, leave them misb. Then again that's just my 2 cents worth.

Again, I agree with Counterpunch.
When they first came out they were in short supply and so not too many people seem to have them. They are alright figures if you got them for the $20 they originally retailed for, but for secondary market prices it's a toss up. I like them, but I wouldn't spend more than $30 to get a set, so it's fortuante that I have them already.
The set is like the present day collection status piece, so if you get them you can always say that you have them and people will slag them as being poopy figures but then what they really mean is they are jealous that you have a rare item. Kinda like Alternator Swerve.....people bitch about repaints and then swoon over the red Tracks.
At least these two are unique and diiferent figures, and their combined form isn't as crappy as everyone says it is. I like them.

I almost bought these a couple of years back but was more and more disappointed with them the closer I looked. And I really wanted to like them. But to each his own-take a good look at the galleries and see if they're really what you want.

I bought this set about six months ago for $30 and am glad that I didn't spend any more for it. I was very disappointed in Grimlock - so much so that I sold him on Ebay to recoup some of what I spent.
I really only wanted Swoop anyway. I'm happy with him, but they could've done so much more with him. The lack of real hands is a bit of a let-down. I'll keep him until a better version is released.

I should be receiving these guys loose soon -- I primarily wanted the Swoop just to have a G1-esque Swoop for my collection and toy comics (actual G1 Swoop is way out of my price range). And as for Grimlock, the more the merrier... right? They look alright to me from the galleries, though.
I just wish they'd released an E-Snarl as well!

I like them both, as individual figures. The combined form is horrible and should be forgotten about altogether.
I paid AU$35 for these guys a few years back, only pack of them I ever saw. I dont regret it, but I would not have liked to have paid much more than that for them, I like them, but they are not the greatest figures ever created.

can these 2 combine with any of the other Energon figures?
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

You know that is a damn sight catchier name than Energon Dinobot, or whatever the combined mode is actually called...

Well, I've got some thinking to do. I'm gonna look at Ryan's pics of 'em one more time before I make up my mind. I was almost thinking removing the yellow stipe on grimmy's head and that yellow tail paint, plus a switch to the classics grimmy head may improve him.
