IT HAPPENED AGAIN!

Postby Liege Evilmus » Fri Jan 04, 2008 10:35 pm

OK, I'm sorry that I can't provide pics.

When I started recollecting, BWTM Megatron was one of my first bots, to be honest, I think he was my fifth.

Well a few years back, I had my first BWTM Megatron steal what I was using for my Prime Matrix Spark that Optimal Optimus had.

It was realy just a chandeler crystal but it worked for me.

Anyhow, I never had a problem with my origional figure, but I took said crystal and kept it in his beast modes mouth.

Optimal, feeling distrought without it went and kicked the ass of every Decepticon and Predicon I had(keep in mind this is a few years ago) looking for this cystal.

Anyhow, when the Megatron in question saw Primal geting closer, he took off in hover mode. When I went to transform him to get ready for a fight should he be found, his waste swivel crumbled!

Optimal Optimus found him broken before he could do the job himself. Distraught he took back his crystal, and delivered the halved remains of Megatron honorably to the Decepticons/Predicons that he just battered.

I used this as a prelude for Unicron's arrival(keep in mind we are going back a few)

Anyhow, the DeceptiPreds(as I call their alliance, shaky as it may be) decided to try and repair Megatron with a screw and bolt. This gave him a limp that I found fitting to his recent damages.

Well about a year ago, this figure completely disintergrated in my hand, and trust me when I knew what was going on I had him going out in a blaze of glory!

Anyhow, both sides thought he was dead, but since I had a feeling this was coming anyway, I bought a replacment. I gave him the tail whip from my origional to pass the torch, but kept him in the shadows of recent battles for you know, hidden agendas and what not.

So anyhow, the old is dead, the new is lurking!

For Christmas I scored myself a second Golden Disc set for my new BWTM Megatron to steal. Now keep in mind I never had a problem with this figure for the past year that I owned him.

Last week I set up his disk reader, and incerted a disc, so he could watch a missing file from the past(the Animated pilot), and still all was well.

However, just now, I went to tilt the head of this figure, and guess what just rolled off in my hand

I believe this mold is cursed when paired with artifacts!

Yeah, sorry to hear.
I had my TM Megatron since I bought him new in the
store. About 6 months ago I was transforming him and he
snapped in two. I couldn't believe it as I was doing nothing different from any other time I had handled him. :(
I tried to sell it on ebay with a near pristine box, but nobody wanted him. I have decided I will keep it, but look for a new one myself, eventually. It's really one of my fav Megatrons too.

It sucks right!

This figure is probably one of the all time bests and he just wont stay together!

But hey, if the head section of yours is in tact and you havn't tossed him yet...

Thanks, and I'm glad the backround was apreciated.

There's a very sad twist of coincidential irony in this tale.

Yeah, it doesn't use the crappy GPS (Gold Plastic Syndrom) plastic like TM Megatron does.

Cool, I realy want a replacement cause he is one of my favorite figures.

I've been pondering getting the Takara 2 pack of him and Primal cause I would like both packaged.

Now I might try and score 2 of those since my TM Primal had one of his bot head antanne broken off.

In all respects to that Primal though, it happened when I still lived in my parents house. The guy fell 3.5 floors onto concrete and that was all that happened.

Well that and I decided I shouldn't set anything up on a window sill.

Man, that's harsh. But love the story. The mould is one of my fav of all time. Hope you find a decent one. And remember: Dont use any acessories with it.

Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna rescue my TM MEgs from the box of tf's and fondly hold him. Before he breaks. :?

Well if you can find one for cheap, I realy say get him.

Granted mine keep crumbling, but he is well detailed, and show acurate nearly to a T.

If this was one of the crap-ass bots out there like Armada SideSwipe, I wouldn't care that much.

But this figure is real just soo awesome that I'd buy him a third time. However this time around, I'm also gonna score a MSIB version for prosperity.

And hell, if you don't want him, how much is the one at your flea market going for?

Hook a brother up, I'll pay ya back!

That sucks. TM Megatron is my favorite incarnation of the character. Mine broke too, though it was a slow, lingering crack in the swivel join his right arm is/was connected to. For the longest time is just dangled there pathetically and I had to put his "whiplash cutlass" in his left hand to keep it from falling off completely--but alas, it was inevitable. Now my Megatron is without a right arm, completely beyond repair.

Well, at least I'm not alone.

I got the Armada repaint in an auction lot a while ago. I wonder if he's going to have the same problems.

I'd just make him my Megatron, but the TM Primal paint scheme in his bot mode kills that for me.

So basicly I use him as like a Beast Wars Guiltor, an amalgum of the two created from the time Megatron carried the Spark crystal.

--------------------------------------------------------

Also, the auctions seem to be tapped right now on this figure boxed, I'd realy like to take the advice I was given and get the Takara version.

Anyone have any leads?

Well, If the GPs isn't a mass problem, I'll buy it, but anyhoo, it's at the all-indoor one, guy has one Mint/complete (no box) for 15 bucks. But, I didn't remember seeing it last time..... :?

You mean me? He was unboxed the day I got him many, many years ago. Oh the weeks upon months of fun I had with the figure. By box of tf's, I meant the tub I keep the ones that are not out on display in (mostly BW at the moment). But I have no unopened tf's. There would be no point in them otherwise.

THEN YOU UNTUB HIM, AND INVEST IN TRACK SHELVING :P

But seriously, you don't have any boxed figures?

I have tons opened, but some for collectors sake like the Unicrons, Primus, and so on I felt compeled to get two.

Not so much for investments sake, but for the figures.

i.e. I have a presteen G1 Galvatron in a box, I don't want to ruin him as he is so I went and bought a complete but less than perfect dup for battle and display. I did the same with Omega Supreme

Then I have some figs like my G1 Metroplex and SkyLinx that I'd love to display but have no room for at the moment so I figure if I have to store them, what better way than in the box.

I think I'm actualy near 50/50 of opened vs boxed, but again, it's for prosperities sake, not investment.

See, I'll be burried with all my stuff, I know you can't take it with you, but I certainly will try to anyway!

He's now standing beside Blitzwing, Jazz and Soundwave. But no, I don't have any figures in box. BW came out when I was still young enough to play with them, which is why they are all opened. As for the newer stuff, I've kept the boxes of the Japanese one's I have (MP's, Micron Legend Tidal Wave, Encore Soundwave) so I can easily put them into a safe box for transport, but the main reason I get the figures is to admire the technical design and engineering that goes into their transformations. And they look good on display. :P If I leave them in a box, how can I do that?

Trust me, lack of shelf space on my end proves that I see your point completely! But I won't keep them tubbed up, they're either active or in stasis(boxed)

Also, aren't the Takara packages so much better for the sake of repacking!

I wonder why Hasbro won't start doing it too, it has to be way cheaper than all those friggin wire ties!

Either way, enjoy your figures :D

I wish Hasbro would mimic the Japanese packaging style too. It's superior on so many levels, plus it has to be cheaper, right? I hate looking at those huge boxes Hasbro produces and seeing all the empty space inside them. It's just a waste of natural resources. :\

Plus the time that it takes to untwist or cut those things that normaly add to joint sepreation which adds sadness to what should be the joyuss act of opening a bew toy!

The enviormental aspect is just the given that goes with it.

Then again, sa these are plastic items, unless they start making TFs out of wood, we aint helping anything :P
