Masterpiece Ultra Magnus
Will Masterpiece Ultra Magnus be re-released anytime soon? I'd really like to have this figure but the ebay prices are ridiculous.
I'd just like to know if it is worth waiting for if it will be released again or if I'll never be able to have one.
Thanks.
Mark

I also missed getting this guy but more so because I wanted a "complete" Ultra Magnus. They eventually re-released prime with his trailer so wishful thinking for me would be Magnus would get the same treatment, hopefully with his armor!

Re: Masterpiece Ultra Magnus
To be honest I don't think he's gonna be reissued, and if he is, I seriously doubt he'd get his trailer.
I only say this because outside of the G1 figure, Magnus never gets reissued.
Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to be mistaken here cause I'm kicking myself for missing this figure too.
Truth be told, I'm starting to like the Magnus color scheme more than Prime's on alot of the more recent figures(Classics and Titanium).

Re: Masterpiece Ultra Magnus
I can not see how a "true" Ultra Magnus could be designed based on the Masterpiece mold, so, there goes any hope on that.
and no.. I like my collection to stay valuable, no MP-2 re-issues please (check outside of the US to find this guy for $50used or $100 new.)

Hmm...I seem to remember seeing a picture of a Masterpiece Magnus that someone had kitbashed some very nice looking armor for...and it looked darn good too.
I've also seen a Masterpiece Prime turned into a Masterpiece Powermaster Prime...That looked aweseom!

Re: Masterpiece Ultra Magnus
Looks like any attempt to "armorize" Ultra Magnus will have to go thru the "parts-former" route. There's just no way to make it work, unless the cab is totally redesigned exclusively for Magnus.

I dont think that the one I posted needed a mod on the cab.
At least not in a big way.

Notice the thighs are bare. Obvious sign of parts-former.
And too small too. Making Magnus a real tight-ass.

Dude I'm not sure what your referring too. Here's a side by side of mp Prime and one in UM arrmor.
The thighs look the same to me.

Re: Masterpiece Ultra Magnus
autobot mentions "part-former"
as in, taking pieces apart to transform it. especially with a masterpiece.. not the most "true" route to take.
And outside of the US. try to find some friends who can speak japanese or chinese and they will be happy to help you purchase it in countries where YahooAuctions is still active (and cheaper than eBay)

Ultra Magnus was always a parts former. And if you want the separate bot inside the armor and you want the armor to have any articulation it has to be separate parts. If you just want a cab that goes straight to the Ultra Magnus mode then the Titanium is it.
As for Mark's Magnus armor posted early in this thread the trailer breaks down into three parts, two legs and the torso armor.

I mean the thighs are too tiny for Magnus's big bulky armored body. Too short. Too close together. Too skinny.
I mean it's out of proportion.
