Postby DREWCIFER » Fri Oct 12, 2007 7:19 pm

Meet Shespray, a G2 Seaspray purple variant.

The metallic blue Seaspray is widely know. However, the less well know variant is purple. I dub her "Shespray", and if that stix like Bumblejumper did, I want credit d@mmit! Hee hee hee, no seriously.

Anyway, if the pix are too big, anyone who can, is welcome to resize them.

Also included is G2 Beachcomber, per a PM request.

Both are from the G2 series back in the mid '90's.

Hasbro, reissued some of the Minibots in that line with Vacuumized or Vulcanized (I don't really know what it's called) metallic "Chrome" paint jobs.

They released Bubmblebee in Gold, Beachcomber in Green, Hubcap in Red(which is confused with Cliffjumper quite often), and Seaspray in Blue. However, somewhere along the line, they made SS in purple too.

I was watching eBay for a purple SS and thought I was gonna get it for under $20. However, there was a crazy biddig war at the end and it went for over $50. I said "Screw That", and figured someone else would sell it as Seaspray for cheap. Well sure enopugh, she's a little scrached, but I got her for under $10 with shipping! WooHoo for thinking smart!

I knew they were G2, it's the one (American release) series I own no figs from.
But, interesting, never kne BC was ever recolored before. G2's are very rare, I suppose.

It depends on the character. G2 was too little, too late. Many ppl just gave up on the toyline, mostly recolours with some new toys thrown in. The new toys were in direct competition with Hot Wheels, so they were the same size but could transform. The latter toys have been remoulded and recoloured for different series since then.

The G2 recolours can still be found pretty easily. However, since it was a later series, many are still MOSC, so ppl ask a lot for them. If you want to find one of these minibots, just look up the character's name on eBay and be patient. However, I would say about half of the collection in my sig, I got over a 2 to 3 month period. You just have to be sharp and not get caught up on any one auction, there will always be another auction, so there's no need to pay out the @ss for any one toy.

Many of the other toys came from Flea markets or Yard Sales, with the exception of the Takara Re-issue Minibot set.

Shespray isn't in my sig, she's a newer accuistion. However, there are a few more minibots that I want, but are rarer and more expensive. I just can't see paying much over $20 for a minibot, however Bumblejumper cost me $50.

I still need the eHobby Destron minibots, but $200, is friggin crazy. Also there are Mexican, Brazillian, and French variants, however, those are few and far between. Lastly, Bumblejumper was released in three colours BND, and I only have one. Plus Microman had a dark blue Bumblebee, but I only saw that once and it was like $350. So, they aren't high on my list unless I luck into them.

Ah, mexican minibots.
Heard of 'em, prefer to call 'em MEXICONS!
And the hot wheels dudes, I know of, the were..the..Go-bots. Later RiD Spychangers.
Oh, and I have no E-bay acount. Remember, I'm 14.
I could lie, but I got no cash.
Also, good to see i'm not the only one who isn't asamed to use a flea market. Get minty fresh figs for cents. It rocks.

You're welcome man. i would have had them up sooner, but was engaged in a video project for work that took up most of my time.

To Sherade, I like that, [i]MEXICONS[/i}, it's cute. I love Flea Markets and Yard Sales. I remember when I was a kid, my mom wouldn't get Castle Greyskull for my He-Man collection. However, a few years later I found one complete at a yard sale for $10. Even back then, my mom couldn't scoff at $10. You have to shop smart. Collecting anything can become real expensive, real quick. Don't worry about eBay, it's a resourse that will drain your money way too fast. Keep to Flea Markets, and look for Yard Sales, you can find some real gems for cheap, but you have to be patient.

To Equus Maximus, I saw your thread there are some good pix in there.
