Detroit Fanfare was...okay. C+ I'd say. It was about the same as Motor City Con with about half the people. I'm hoping they did well enough to do it again just to see if they can build off of this one but I overheard several different dealers lamenting the horrifically dismal and disappointing turnout. I still wonder why we can't have a decent convention with major publisher support in Detroit. Is it DC and Marvel ignoring us out here or does the fault lie with the convention promoters?

i ha a great time yesterday at fanfare. the q and a panels were fun i finished my classics series by finding a voyager inferno at the vader's attic booth and met plenty of costume folks! im hoping the turnout doesnt seem as bad as it was though. i enjoyed the size of the novi con without the shoulder to shoulder floor experience.

Wish I could have made it to Fanfare, but I had work and then my bag-carrier and I had to be the last two people in the country to go see Transformers 3 in the theater.

(Which was not on purpose, I just missed it the first time around and yay for the small local auditorium that sometimes randomly shows movies on the cheap just before they hit DVD.)

They somehow managed to make up for about 75% of the suck of the last movie. Kudos.

That's a pretty accurate rating. It may have been enjoyable for it's lack of attendance and chill atmosphere...but that is NOT going to bring another one next year. I would say they had half the vendors you see at comic con and the ones that did show up are not going to have good things to say. I think the problem was that they moved farther away from their base...anywhere away from Detroit.....they went to a bigger venue without the big draw...no stan lee...and the promotion was light....probably for that reason as well. I hardly so anyone dressed....maybe 20 people. Last year they had a friggin iron man and war machine.....chewbacca wasn't there either and that guy goes to everything! #-o

the vader's attic poeple are cool. i am pretty good friends with them.

i wanted to go to fanfare. but my best freinds kids bday was this weekend so i couldnt go.

Yeah, I was off spending time with my new girlfriend so it just suddenly... didn't seem as important.

Also, I got a good deal on a MIB RTS Bumblebee on e-Bay this week. Then I picked up Generations Kup at Target (no news there, obviously). Kup's cooler than I thought, this whole line turned out really great.
I'm running out of G1-esque Autobots to pick up. Any recommendations on a suitable Prime? Ironhide/Ratchet are kinda ridiculous in robot mode and expensive online, other than that I can't really think of anyone.

I'll prolly post a group pic when Bee gets here.

RTS laser optimus is good. if a bit short. hasbro really needs to give us another classics/generations optimus. or at least rerelease the classics version.

As promised, my old school Autobots thus far.

Pretty proud of how this collection is turning out. Recommendations for others that would go well here? I've basically been going off the character roster from season 1 of the original series.

Finally found a Generations Warpath today! I got him at Livonia TRU this afternoon and left them with one more along with two each of Thundercracker and Wheeljack. They also had the War For Cybertron 3-pack. Not a horrible bunch of repaints, but at $39.99 I shall pass. I might grab it if it goes on clearance at some point. Fat chance considering it's TRU.

the warpath wave of generations have been showing up in my area also. to bad i have them already. i am caught up on generations now. i just need rts perceptor and wreck gar and a few dotm figures and i am done for the time being.

Finally found HA Roadbuster with the correct paint apps at Northland Target. I'm still looking for RTS Wreck gar and Perceptor...hoping they show up at TJ Maxx one day. The day Ultimate OP goes on clearance will be a great day!!

That's funny, I feel like I see Warpath all the time over here. I'm glad you guys brought him up, it made me realize I saw him in a recent episode I watched. I've been looking at the figure thinking he was just a WFC character... but I think I'll have to add him to my G1 collection now.

If I suddenly can't find him, I'll hit you up tigertracks. This kinda makes me wonder who else I should've picked up. Anyone know of a good G1 character list?

Found that big @ss Costco golden battle ops Bumblebee at dearborn Marshalls. I hate BB...but I couldn't pass him up...plus my son loves him

Still no luck w/ Space Case, checked the Allen Park Target today, nothing really of note, other than a couple of Laserbeaks/Thundercrackers, and a Specialist Ratchet. Deluxes are on sale at $9.99.

Still like a Space Case if any of my MI soldiers come across same.

Just picked up a Wheeljack at Hall/ 94 Walmart. Pretty sweet figure just wish they had made him stand a little taller. I left 4 behind along with 3 or 4 Warpaths, Thundercrackers, a Scourge or 2, and a couple of Sergeant Kups. That Walmart is pretty well stocked right now actually. I wish I could have picked up one of the Warpaths too but the wife put her foot down. All I ask is if any of you guys head over there, just save me one. The weekend is coming and I may head back. lol Thanks
