you can break it whether you're nine or ninety if it's brittle, it will snap.

if you want a play toy, buy an MP prime.. Megatron or Starscream are NOT fun to have right before puberty...

I'd say just Barely. While MP Prime is o.k for that age group, and maybe even a bit younger, Megatron would be better 13 or 14 and up.

Just because of the frail joints and difficult Transformation.

Starscream, can be a bit difficult, and is really not meant o be transformed back and forth every 5 minutes. But if he's careful, and knows what he's doing I'd say Yes.

Starscream is good for 11 and up. Prime even better, 8 and Up. Megatron wait a couple years.

Animated isn't out yet, so very few people will have one. nd unless you plan on spending 60 or 80 dollars for a 20 dollar toy that's coming out very soon.

There are however quite a few threads with pics, and I'm sure there's a review somewhere in Youtube for him.

AVOID MEGATRON for an 11 year old.

Prime is pretty sturdy, and tricky so it's recomended.

As for the Seekers, I have 3 opened, and each one varies in terms of QC. It's funny, no two share the same flaw!?! At the price mark they're going for, I'd skip those too.

Get him Prime, he's common and kinda cheap. As he proves he can handle that and treat it as the collectable it is, then I'd look into investing in the other figures.

The MP line isn't realy ment for play, which is something I think is pretty sad.
