Nothing like free Transformers

Postby SauronTD » Thu Jan 17, 2008 1:19 pm

I may not have been old enough during G1 to have had any, but my brother was. Despite several searches I have never been able to find any of his save a gobot. However last week while looking for some of my old toys I found some of my brothers and it was like x-mas all over again, ok so I didnt find any rare figs but still. I found Micromasters Takedown, Groundpounder, and Neutro. Pretender Stranglehold inner robot, Laserbeak, and White minispy Jeep. Nothing to exciting but it gives me hope for more!

Nice finds! My older brother wrecked most of his g1s so I never had any of him hand-me-downs. I was so sad when I found a piece of G1 Screamer

Weapon: Sniper Rifle
Luckily, my brother never developd an interest in TFs. I was able to smuggle all of them out of our parents' house and he's content to view them when he visits...

Y'know, I was actually given my first ever G1 transformer (Please keep in mind I wasn't around for G1, I'm 15 years old and Armada is the thing I collect most!) a few months back, last year...My aunt and her sons were searching their attic and found a whole bunch of old toys...Among them were some G1 micromasters, most of 'em broken up...One of them held together though, good old Swindler, the Delorean DMC 12! :D So the next day they gave him to me. He's a little yellowed (and was covered in some sort of strange brown dust in the little nooks and crannys of his body) in places and maybe doesn't roll along well, but I like him anyway. I mean, he fits in with the Mini-Cons and Movie Legends I've got, at least to me he does....

Yeah I did that too - that's my only regret. I still have Jazz in 3 different pieces.

I'm sure I have at least a few old TFs in our family storage space, G1 Whirl among them. One of these days I'll have to shovel the whole space out and look, I'm getting into G1s lately.

My girlfriend's brother cleared out his attic recently and found his G1 Hot Rod (with gun!) which he gave to me :D

He also found a whole bunch of those weird toys that are robots who transform into rocks. I'm fairly sure they've got nothing to do with Hasbro, but they're still pretty neat.

Rocklords. Made by the same people that gave us Gobots... Crap idea, but for thier time, rather nice robots I seem to remember (havnt held one in over a decade so I might be wrong).

Only free tfs I've ever got are a few micromasters and G1 Hotspot (minus any bits) from a mate who had doubles in his collection from his childhood. I never had much i nthe way of tfs as a kid, and a lot of it was second hand anyway, so very little of it survived in any useful way into my collecting days.

Well, when I was 5, I got my first ever Transformer: G2 Blue Grimlock! I remember unwrapping him on Christmas: so good! After a while, I lost him, but found him again around 10. He was missing his dino head and wings (found those, sans one of the wings >.<) and his accessories. Also found a G2 Brawl 3 years ago

I did have older brothers, so, naturally I have a few of their old TFs: G1 Hot Spot (no accessories, chest shield, and missing like two rubber tires), Motormaster (missing accessories, his little car, and, of all things, his head  ) and the right arm and left leg of Shackwave (I think the rest of him is still around SOME where, but who knows...)
Latest Acquisition:
#307 - G1 Sparkstalker
#306 - G1 Wide Load
#305 - G1 Erector
#304 - Movie Landmine
