After reading that article I don't know what to say, I'm at a loss for words.
That isn't the end that anyone would want or should have to endure...my heart and prayers are with your family and those affected by this tragedy.
God bless.

Re: Plane crash kills 2 (close family friends)
Thanks BM.
I'm still having a hard time accepting it. I just talked to them a couple days ago so it's strange knowing they are no longer here. One of them was not only a family friend, but he was also the family dentist. He took out my wisdom teeth.
This might sound bad, but I wish impact killed them. Instead they burned to death while trying to escape.
I have a suspicion that whoever serviced the plane before it took off might be partially responsible. That airport has now had 2 planes crashes and both of them were serviced before take-off. I just wish I knew more.

That really sucks. Just know this, they are in a better place.
But yeah what you brought up makes me wonder as well, maybe the "new guy" serviced the planes, screwed something up. Or something.
I'm curious though, it says in the article that the plane was seen heading into a storm-front.
I thought with those little Cessna planes, which I think was what they were flying. You normally steer clear of as much bad weather as you can.

The pilot whose name from the article is Micheal was trained in flying in bad weather. He's the type of person who would have only not flown if he knew the weather was going to not be good at all. He's flown through worse weather and came out just fine. From the info we got that wasnot in the article, the plane took off and then plummeted as if the engine died. My guess is mechanical failure as there were no lightning strikes.

Re: Plane crash kills 2 (close family friends)
That really sucks. I kinda know how you feel. In January of 2007, a friend of mine was heading home at night to Evansville, IN on I-465. He drove tired all the time. The guy feel asleep at the wheel, and his car went underneath a semi truck, taking off the roof of his car and his head at the same time. I got the call from a friend of mine who was really close to him. I didn't know what to say, I thought he was joking at first. It took 3 hours for reality to set in, but then I broke down and started crying. I had just seen the guy the weekend prior to the accident.
Its times like these that make you realize how short life is. When its your time to go, your going to go. My buddy Ross was only 25 years old at the time... It was sad and its still unreal to think about to this day.

Thanks everyone. We got a call that they are still investigating and should have some answers for us soon. We should know what really happened within a couple weeks.

Re: Plane crash kills 2 (close family friends)
Good news and bad news:
Good news is that the autopsy showed no signs of smoke in their lungs. They died on impact. I say that's good because they did'nt have to suffer from burning to death. It brings me comfort knowing that their death was quick.
Bad news is that this has now turned into a police investigation. The plane crashed due to the engine stalling. Micheal was unable to get the engine running again. The plane had only just taken off so they did not have enough time to get up to the normal elevation. The airport mechanics are now being investigated as it is now confirmed that the plane was serviced before take-off.
My earlier suspicion of the bad maintenance for the mechanics is starting to show signs of being correct.
