Interesting, with the way the thrusters flip up when in bot mode maybe you could get a smll plastic dome to be a helmet. Can he hold the tip of the rocket when its detatched?

Yep, the "plastic dome" is a helmet for the robot.

I'll try to check that "hold the rocket tip".

But for now, i repainted the rocket with "Astrotrain-Style" Colors

that looks good. Maybe you could make the upper half of the rocket into a sword. and just mod the whole that connects into the other half.
