There's one thing you fail to comprehend. Unicron can transform and palm the death star. This fight would be completely one sided.

Uincron is much more mobile. Unicron wins. Unicron probably wins easily.

However, there is ONE scenario where the Death Star wins. The Death Star can destroy a planet with one shot. The Death Star just needs ONE LUCKY (or good) SHOT. Personally, I think the Empire would be reduced to Unicron chow, but if Unicron (cartoon version) gets arrogant, the Death Star's one-shot-one-kill would turn Unicron to metallic asteroids within the first lyric of "The Touch."

Unicron would capture a small Transformer (I'm thinking Cosmos) and send him ahead to destroy the Death Star using that very useful exhaust port at the end of that trench. If Cosmos fails, Unicron can find other Transformers to do the job instead. Eventually, the Death Star will blow.
