G1 gears, one of the few originals that I still own.

Megatron was the very first TF I owned, back in 1984.
The local Toys R Us had just gotten the very first wave in and Megatron and the min-cars were all they had(on an isle end-cap). GoBots had been out for a few months already so I had a few of those but Transformers were brand new and I was waiting(very impatiently I might add) for them to come out. I was calling Toys R Us on an almost daily basis to see when they came in.(the employees were probably sick of hearing from me no doubt). This was early 1984 if I remember correctly? I was in fourth grade. Luckily my Mother did not mind paying the "high" $19.99 price tag as in my haste to find out if the Transformers were indeed in stock I didn't bother to check the price!
Incidentally, my Mother bought my nephew a yellow cliffjumper while we were there as well. I was the envy of my fourth grade class as the only other person that owned a real Transformer at that time was a kid with G1 Thundercracker.
So I blame Megatron for my TF collecting obsession, its all his fault!

Wow a lot of 1984's. Most of you guys must be very big collectors... unlike me who has only 3-5 series.

I got mine in 1984 as well. But I didn't get a whole lot of G1 Transformers after that. I have about a dozen or so. No more than 20, that's for sure. Then I stopped just before the Headmasters started. And I started collecting again this year. So, you may have more than I do.

i really can't remember...back in 84-85 i was more of a Joe collector (plus being a growing toddler at that time!), my parents said they bought me a Grimlock back then, but the earliest that i can remember having aside from Joes were Micromasters, Sparkabots, Targetmaster Sureshot, i'm sure i had more but really can't exactly remember...
fast forward, the very first TF i got after all those years was Cybertron Smokescreen. yeah, a G1 homage to get you back into collecting again.

G1 Grapple. Then Hoist, Ramjet and Astrotrain. More came afterwards but I don't remember the exact order. But I still love that Grapple to this day. It's a wonder it's still standing straight considering the number of times I took it apart...

i remember the old days, when i got my very first TF in the 80's. it was chromedome, then misfire, grotusque, horri-bull, 3 pretenders (forgot the name), one seacon, and 3 micromasters (one of them is erector). too bad, the only thing left is the seacon. the others are gone.
after a long period of "no-TF's", recently i started to collect TF again (TF 2007 movie toyline).

Skywarp circa 1984. Was so excited about him that I got Bumblebee and Brawn a couple of days later. Unfortunately, I need to do some rehab on Skywarp now but BB and Brawn are in good shape.
