What. The. Hell....
Tell me this price isn't for real. o_O
Wow! I had a feeling the Classics would eventually raise in value, but not by this much and this soon. Does this mean we'll see prices for them everywhere skyrocketing in the next few years when they're out of production?

No, what this means is that more idiots from around the world who have no idea of the real value of individual figures will start buying more product cheap in hopes of selling it for such inflated prices as that to become rich quick.
Instead, what will happen is these idiots will sit on a large inventory of figures with no one willing to buy their product for that price.
Slowly, sellers will lower their prices until they find a medium where they can justify keeping a certain price knowing that consumers and collectors will be willing to pay.
So the longer the consumers and collectors hold out from buying from such people, the lower the prices will become.
In the meantime, the seller given in example will have to have a Starscream figure he obviously does not want for himself, take up space in his inventory until he either lowers the price or a fool with money buys it.
Chances are, neither of those will happen, but I can remain satisfied knowing that he is trying to pawn off a rather common figure from a couple months ago rather than a rare figure where other people would actually contemplate buying it for that price.

this guy is just a seller who just wants to capitalize on the TFTM hype.but that's waaay too overblown, unless he is selling a MP version and forgot to change the pic. but come to think of it, if he sold a BC TC at that price...
all the comments above are the HUMBLE OPINIONS of the said user only. 'nuff sed.

Looking at this Amazon price makes me feel even better about finding a random Classic Starscream at a K-Mart a few months ago during the small wave of Classics restocks during the Movie line drought.
And while this Starscream is very good, I wouldn't spend more than, say, $20 on him.
And yes, there are a few "sellers"(in quotes since I doubt that they actually sell anything) on Amazon who should really be ashamed. I've seen ridiculous prices like $110 for a Cybertron deluxe figure that isn't all that hard to find as it is.

The best part about this is that you can pre-order the Takara version (which will hopefully have better paint apps) for $25 from BBTS.
If you are still looking for Classics SS (or Megs or Prime or...), that's the way to go, me thinks.

And don't forget Takara is going to release at least 4 of the classics figures also, including Starscream. And that one will cost significantly less than this listing and will bring prices down on the secondary market

im curious to know, which cybertron figure was it? cybertron was a great line, but there was no deluxe figure worthy of that price tag.

Mr. Brokaw,
I was referring to the seller hotwheelskingdom on Amazon; if you check out Cybertron Soundwave, that seller is asking a paltry $159.99 (plus another $5 for shipping). I've noticed similar prices on other TF figures that retailed at the deluxe level and still are readily available.
Why bother even going through that charade since nobody will take you seriously?

I have been seeing this kind of pricing on amazon.co.uk, even respectable retailers such as Toyzandgamez.com (who sell on amazon) jack up the prices of their Transformers at the tail end of their book stock. For example on their website they had Masterpiece Starscream at £72.99 but yet on amazon they charged £86.99.
There's one retailer called Toy-Town that has absurd prices for Transformers.....£65 for Alternator Grimlock, £80 for Leader Class Brawl and even upwards of £50 for some deluxe Classics figures. I used to buy quite a lot of my Transformers through amazon but not now after seeing these sickening attempts at screwing consumers over......£80 ($160) for Cybertron Megatron? when i could get the Galaxy Force version for half that from Xybertoys.
Some new examples are the movie double pack of Prime and Bumblebee £72.99 ($150 basically) Barricade and bumblebee £52.99....it gets worse.

Thats hilarious. $160 for Cyb. Soundwave? I mean, I just saw one of those two days ago at a bulk stock store for $20. Those poor buggers who actually pay those astronomical prices.
