Bill's (TFmaster) service was today

Postby plowking » Thu Mar 15, 2007 7:00 pm

Hey guys....I just got back from Bill's service today....

It was a very nice service, and just about every seat in the chapel was full.
The part I liked the best was when the director asked for each person to stand, that wanted to, and say one word that best described their relationship with Bill.

Many different words were said, but the one that stood out the most, often repeated, was "FRIEND"

Laughs were shared as well as a tear here and there, but it was all for the same reason, to honor Bill.

For those who couldn't attend, you still have the oppurtunity to leave some kind words for Lauren, Raechel, and the rest of Bill's family by clicking this link, and then click on "add a tribute"

http://www.uhtfuneralhome.com/obituarie ... index=2288

The director asked the the remarks be kept "clean" because they are screened before they are turned over to Lauren and the family.
This can be your chance to say some final words on Bill's behalf for his family to have forever.

Oh man, I missed you there Plowking. I did have a brief chat with Drive-by though. I'm really glad I was able to make it and say my good-byes to Billy. Lauren is a great woman and I know she'll pull through.

I got there at about 2:40 and Drive-by left about five minutes after that. He just told me where to go for the viewing and food and then found Lauren for me. I did indeed stay for the service. I thought it would be longer, but I suppose it's better that it wasn't. All of the crying was really starting to take its toll on all of us there I think.

I dunno if you'd remember, but I was the fat guy with the pony tail and glasses. Yeah, there were a lot of long-haired guys there, but I think I was the only one with glasses, heh. I'm told I look like an indian.

I'm sorry If this sounds political, but this must be the first time I've ever wished I was American..... Just to have the option to say goodbye properly.

yea, distance is so much easier to overcome over the internet. I'm in the US but had no way of affording that big a trip on short notice. I think as soon as I do scrape together that kind of cash, it will be going to the funeral fund as opposed to just me being there in person. Better use of funds if you ask me.
till all are one.

I'm in the same boat as far as funds and schedule goes. I'll be helping with the funeral fund. BIll and his family have been in my thoughts for a week solid now. Dev, I'm glad you were able to make it to the service. I still can't believe this has happened :(

Plowking, thanks for the info and link.

My wife recently had hip surgery and is basically regulated to a walker. She can only use her right leg at the moment. So I didn't want to stay late since I live 2 hours away from Bill & Lauren. Also I was havin a hard time there. *shrugs*
