One time I saw an auction that was setup so that only a particular seller can purchase the item. Sadly, I can't remember what the auction was for.
Has anyone seen this kind of auction before? If so, what type of auction is this?

Do you mean only a particular buyer could purchase it?
I've never seen that kind of thing, and I don't know how you could rig something like that, or if you could, how someone could tell it was rigged.

Yeah, I was searching for those Ex Gokin Getter Robo figures and found a reasonably priced Getter 3, but when I clicked on it, it was already bought and it even specified the user name of the person who bought it.

Thats because the person had already won the action probably through buy-it-now.

No, the user name was in the description of the item. Maybe the auction was a deal setup between the seller and buyer beforehand instead of a special type of auction.

Some auctions you are required to get on the sellers bidders list, you have to ask for permission to bid on the item..I've seen this a handful of times give or take but typically this is a high end auction where thousands of dollars or tens of thousands are at risk.
The sellers probably do it to make it look like there items are more prestigious and collectible.
How much was the item in question going for ?

Well, as I said before, I can't remember much because I never saved the auction. I know it was before the last bit of price raising on the Gokin Getters. Probably between $400-$500 I know that. Keep in mind that this type of figure would have a limited audience.

It would be possible to rigg the auction.............I mean people do Hack into FBI/CIA data alot .......how hard would it be to set up and auction on certain higher end item .or have someone on the bidder list, so only friends of that person could get the item before anyone else?.
