Marvel has really done it now!
Marvel is cold-blooded killing off all the good characters and screwing up the lives of the living. I'll still read some of there comics but I don't know about you I think they should stop it. I think its ok to kill off some but not every single good one.

Possibly Marvel killing some of their own porperties.
As if this is anything new. Comic book characters die and revive all the time. Even Superman and Spider-Man have died. And did they stay dead? No.

No, I understand that comic book characters die and come back all the time. But why are they killing off characters now?

Because. It makes people read the comics. "What, they killed Cap? Hell, I gotta read that!"
Comics = Graphic Soap Operas, the more tragedy, the more conflict, the more people read.

Anyway I don't belive Cap died. I think Fury got him out of ther into his new secreat hideout. So one day we eill see Cap trowing his shiled agine. As for Pets outing, man I hate that I realy do. That's wy I want Venom ore Carnage to rip Iron Man apart. But don't give Marvel the foult for all that. Since it was fanboys like ous (not me since this is my first Forum) saying things like Marvel sucks, nothing ever happens to the carecters. Always the same Bad guy commes gets beten up end next issue the same and nothing ever has a lasting effect. Marvel is just doing wat the people wantm, storied that f*** up the Heoroes lives.

It's not killing off the character's that I mind it's the dumb resurrections that pisses me off.
That and the since that because death isn't permanent so all the grief that a character goes through seems utterly worthless.

Always had a soft spot for Clint Barton (Hawkeye) but damn it was hard seeing him as Captain America.
Thankfully he realised it was wrong and told Stark accordingly. I doubt anyone's going to be able to fill the role just to make Stark feel less guilty. Bring on World War Hulk and a crushed suit of iron!

Agreed, the whole thing with Colossus, sacrificing himself to cure the legacy virus, totally ruined the nobility of it all when they brought him back.
Thats the one thing I really hate with comics, the retconning of stuff. Granted I love Hal Jordan, and I believe he should have been brought back for another stint as Green Lantern.
But still, bringing Gwen Stacy back to life then making her a clone. Aunt May dying and then discovering the one who died was a clone.
Professor being able to walk in one scene, then crippled in his chair the next.
It sucks.

I agree. The death of Darth Maul sucked, and he seems to be a fan favorite with some people, but even some Star Wars fans don't like him getting 'resurrected' too many times. In my honest opinion, it cheapens the character. Fortunately with Maul, two of his 'resurrections' aren't 'cannon' and the third one might not even be him.
Luke Skywalker was brought back once, to live again. As much as I like him in the movies, I wish he had stayed dead when he kicked the bucket.
Same with the Emperor. Please, Your Imperialness, stay dead!

Marvel's been screwed for a long time now. While I have loved some of the stories that have come out, they haven't had a positive direction in years. People say there are actually four ages of comics, the Golden Age, the Silver Age, the Modern Age, and now the Dark Age. While I have no problem with putting the heroes through hell and back (hey, if they're lives were all rosey all the time what would be worth reading?) but there has been no direction. Stuff that's suppose to be big and huge have no follow up, such as the reduction of mutants around the world, are suppose to have this big presence. But who has really taken the torch and moved on with it? The only writer who has done anything at all with it in a regular series has been Peter David in X-Factor. Everywhere else it may be hit upon, or talked about, but for the most part, it's business as usual since most of the X-Men never lost their powers to begin with. If they really wanted to impress people, they should have pulled names from a hat and taken away X-Men powers at random and dealt with that...that would have been cool. What do we get instead? A year long story about a jerk off Summers brother that we're suppose to give a crap about, and a space empire that no one has paid any real attention to since the eighties. Hello? There are only a little under two hundred mutants left in the world...let's not let the main X-title hit upon that at all. Of course, it doesn't help that the supposed flag-ship title, Astonishing X-Men has been so chronically late, it's DOA - and again about a space empire that we've never heard about and it's only taken what three of four years to get here? Does anyone want to tell me why I should give a rats ass anymore?
And now we have had this Civil War deal, anyone want to take any bets that it will all be undone in a year? That Cap with be back in the suit, that the registration act will quietly be swept under the rug, and we'll be introduced to an all new Avengers team at least three more times before then?
Stories have no weight when it's all undone before there any real ramifications.

It's a SUPER-Hero Registration act not a Mutant Registration act. That meen's all of the masked heros [and bad guys] have to register including the one's with out power's.

im more pissed off that their going to kill storm in a new X-men issue, also Teen Titans is going to lose someone again (don't know who) and for god's sake dc bring back superboy, im sick and tired of Tim's depression whining and Cass's depression as well. An is it to much to make Diana Wonder Woman again and make Donna something else? Cudos though to Tarantula raping Nightwing not many times you see a woman rape a man in comics.

thanks for the Storm Spoiler. At least Marvel is bringing back three characters who would have kept the Civil War from even getting off the ground. Hulk, Thor, and Jean Grey. Can't wait for all of those.

um
I had thought Spider-Man's life was already screwed up? He has mutant bad guys chasing him constantly, aliens, street thugs, and they did the whole alcoholism and smoking binges she used to go through.
Then his uncle got killed, aunt may has always been dying, he has no family aside form her, I have never heard of some cousin visiting.
He got buried in concrete in at least one comic I read I think it was the maximum Carnage from a while back, so in short I do not think he had a sunshiny life before either.
