Postby Ash » Tue Sep 04, 2007 7:30 am

My custom Megs. I wasted my time Painting my doorknob, mobile (in the end I had to buy a new one) pens. virtually anything I could find. I even tried weathering affects on Vector Prime.

Thanks Jin and Sonray.

I... uh... tube? Wha? I used Games Workshop flesh-wash over Mithril Silver for a dirty gold color for my Megatrons. Testors makes Copper and it just says that on the side of the bottle. Dunno what kind of copper paint comes in a tube, tho there's hundreds of brands like that in Michael's canvas-art department. Unfortunatly none of them work well and stick to Transformers.

Actually i have some copper paint in a tube and it works fine.

Guess some things work for people and some things dont, just like these blasted acrylics dont work for me.

Copper aside, my first thought was that another light round of dry-brush silver will bring his details out.
Looking good though.

I like it, but I don't have guts to try it. It's hard enough to find megs let alone take a chance f-in' him up. But, you made it look good.

It's amazing that every single repaint of Megatron I have seen is far superior to the plain Hasbro version.

It's not that surprizing to me. Hasbro has to think about the costs of paint and such, on a massive scale, as well as the speed required for mass production and the use of relatively unskilled labor using simple stencils. We only need to worry about the cost of one figure and our own artistic abilities. That's also why painted prototypes also tend to look better than the production model.
