Im new to the site and up until a month ago I didnt know what kitbashing was, I love Darklord's idea and had to have a crack at it, once I did the repaint I just kept going, heres how it's turning out:













As you can see I have replaced his left arm with armada primes and added an arm on the right, his crane is now removable (I like the crane arm but its nice to have it as optional) and fits neatly in the head compartment. Unfortunatley I had to lose the mechanism that makes it punch : : (I tried to figure a way of keeping it but no luck). I am working on a way to cover up the big hole left by the crane arm and a custom roller unit which will attach to prime to allow him to transform into truck-mode! (also started designing a custom trailer)

This is first kitbash I have ever done that is even 1% original so your feedback would be much appreciated but bear mind in that this is still WIP and the paint job is a long way from finished

for being a first... great job.. only thing at the moment i can give judgment on is... there are still a bunch of places that you can still see orange.. you need to go back and lay down some more paint and get rid of that.. other than that ... very well done.. i like the addition of the changable arm...

lol, thats what I thought when i discoverd it could do that. It was a complete surprise to me when i realised the crane fit in the head comparment, in fact now i have a spare hoist arm I might try and pick up another one up and do that, thanks

Agreed. As Gawd noticed, there's still orange on the crane arm that could do with covering, but otherwise it's a really nice paint job. I like the wayyou've rigged the arms to act as smokestacks in alt-mode; that really suits it - in fact for some reason it make it feel a lot bigger to me, like it should be some humongous plant.
I like Jim's Scorponok idea, too, although it also reminds me somewhat of RiD Grimlock...

The paint job is mostly finished, as you can probably see I still havent found anything to cover up the big hole left by the crane arm and also having some paint rub issues with parts of the crane arm.
