Question about Overcharge drones / Triplechangers in general

Postby davidasnoddy » Tue Aug 28, 2007 6:49 am

This is kind of a hypothetical question, but...

Overcharge drones are triplechangers, which means that they have two alt modes rather than one. Correct?

This is represented in the game by them turning into a Tank to ram, and into a Plane to Strafe. Correct?

So, my question is this - how is this mechanically different to a standard Tank alt, which already has both Ram and Strafe?

It may just be an experimental thing for V2, I know... but I am curious.

for one thing you have to unlock strafe in a tank. with a triple changer it might be possible to get that strafe without unlocking it. also i wouldnt be surprised if it could avoid. i dont know, i havent been in a battle with one.

Look up the Xp Calculator. Although initially tacticless, with one point of int, the Triplechanger Tank/Plane unlocks both ram and strafe - both starting at 0XP!

While I wish it was that easy, that's just a trick coding for the Overcharges.

I know, we're not getting that, no way. But those are the only tactics that the Triplechanger Tank/Plane can get.

The Triple changer drones can Strafe, Ram, and Avoid! Thats your trifecta. Thing is we are all getting three tactics when V2 comes out so it will be like have all characters as triple changers. It may even come down to xp cost and distribution in the end. We'll see, but I guess the drones are our first look at that system for testing!

best to treat them as OS figuring stuff out in order to give us really cool triplechangers in V2.

Otherwise they're a pain in the butt.
