I'm just curious, how many of you knew Optimus was going to die before going in to watch the '86 movie?

I knew but I can't remember how. I wish I could remember how I found out. The thing I wasn't sure about was who would be the new leader. Rodimus had "Prime" in his name but the Ultra Magnus toy had "Commander" in his title. I was rooting for Rodimus. I figured it would be Rodimus because the leader had to be a Prime. But we didn't really know that yet back then. I was never 100% sure.

I didn't know or even guess. However, war is war and I'd already seen Prime almost die at the hands of Shockwave in the comics. Therefore, it wasn't a complete surprise.
