Does anyone know if the proposed DreamWave beast wars comics were going to be the same as the one IDW published?
Just wondering.

Much of the same cover art was used for issue #1 of the Gathering, and both were written by Furman and drawn buy Figureoa, but otherwise no one will know for sure as DW went belly up before they released their story.

Chances are the only ones who could tell you for sure would be the fellas wot writed and drewed both...
As far as I know, though, it's not the same stuff that was produced for DW. How close it is, I'm not sure.

Sionce Furman had more time to write the IDW version, he was probably able to put more Grimlock in there that was going to be in the DW version.

No. There was going to be one a few years ago but it got cancelled due to:
a) Dreamwave going bust,
b) Dreamwave being a bit poor,
c) Pat Lee being a berk,
d) A wizard
e) All of the above.

I rememer seeing some pencilled pages that were released shortly after the whole bankruptcy fiasco. It looked very similar to the start of issue 1. But as to where it would have gone from there. who knows.
