Who should get the Masterpiece treatment next?
Hi all,I've been lurking for a bit and since I've just decided to started collecting TF's again I thought I'd register.
The Masterpiece line has so far seen 5 characters from 3 different molds. I'd like to know what all new characters/molds others would like to see?
My top 3 would be,
1.Grimlock
2.Shockwave
3.Soundwave with Laserbeak

I would love to see Galvatron get done in this line.
I know they want realistic alt modes, and Gavlatron is a space cannon. But on the show, he always had a very regal feel to his design with the toy very much lacked.
Also since they wouldn't be limited to the desing restrictions of the previous figures, they would hopefuly return to the quality used in Prime, and get away from the fragility of Megatron and StarScream(I have issues with the hands and feet).
For extras, they could give him a closed matrix on a chain, maybe a small Quintesson, and a collapsable crown(for the crushing effect).

I'd put money on it that they would want to make a mold that can be re-sold as a different figure with a repaint/slight remould.
So I'd be guessing:
- Sideswipe/Sunstreaker/Red Alert
- Prowl/Smokescreen/Bluestreak
- Soundwave/Soundblaster/Blaster
But I think that perhaps this mold would have the most appeal to Takara at the moment:
- Bumblebee/Cliffjumper/Bumblejumper
Thanks to the resurgence in his popularity due to the movie.

i would love a better looking Galvatron. the toy, even when i bought him as a kid he was disappointing. the MP Megatron makes me drool.
but here's my dream list of 5:
1.Galvatron
2.Wreck Gar
3.Shockwave
4.Grimlock
5. A Gestalt. Don't care which, as long as they try it.

I could of swore that I read somewhere they're thinking about doing Grimlock next.
Or maybe I'm going loopy due to too many cheerios.

No I read the same thing, that they were considering Grimlock next. Whether or not they actually make him is another thing.

ironhide / ratchet !! both characters are in the movie. both G1 toys are quite sought after. they could do a proper robot mode with an actual head that we never got in the G1 bot modes. bring it on!!

We definitley need a cartoon accurate Masterpiece Galvatron. The only thing that worries me is whether Takara would do a Masterpeice that doesnt hav a realistic, earth-based alt mode. Would it sell?

I think Ironhide/ Ratchet would be a good move on TakaraTomy's part.

I did not know they were wanting to make "realistic Earth alt modes" for this Masterpiece line.
If that is the case then Grimlock is out I do believe, nothing realistic in his alt mode. A metal T-Rex?
Following the realistic edict then:
-Soundwave
-Ratchet
-Reflector
-Mirage

Actualy, the point of the MP line is to make G1 acurate figures.

I think Ironhide/Ratchet
or Bumble/CLiffJumper would be awesome.
A Gestalt would also be awesome, but I don't think it'd be easy on the wallet.

If they are G1 toy accurate, then I think they should skip over Ratchet and Ironhide!

I think either Grimlock or Shockwave should get the next masterpiece figure treatment.
Done to scale so Shockwavre should be about 30cm same as Prime and Megatron Grimlock should stand about 35cm.
But both definately deserve a masterpiece.

I think we can all agree we want to see a MP Soundwave in the near future.
I love that waky tape player.

I'm fine with G1 accurate. The term "G1 accurate" and "real Earth believable" are different. Some in this thread dismiss Grimlock because of the latter idea, lack of believability. However, a G1 accurate MP Grimlock is all I'd need to be happy.

For the sake of not just repeating what everyone else has said (and I'd love MP versions of Grimlock, Sideswipe, Ironhide, etc), I'm gonna say Springer. Probably my favorite character introduced in the Movie, tragically underused, and his toy was... alright. Let's give some neglected characters some love!
