I was really excited about the game "Four Horsemen of Apocalypse" for XBOX by 3DO.
But 3DO went under so this game that I followed closely was canceled.
Yes, I am aware that was sometime ago.
What I wonder is, what games had you excited and then they got canceled for one reason or another?
and, is there a way any games (mainly Four Horsemen) can get picked up by another company and finished and released?
Every video game magazine out there was excited for that game, it's just odd that it just went into limbo like that

Have to agree with you there.
But I have to add to that list Chrono Break.
Damn you, Square Enix! I want to see Crono and Magus and Frog (I guess he's back to Glenn now?) and those other wacky freaks again!

There was supposed to be an Alien game for the PS2. It was called Aliens: Colonial Marines. Or something like that. Far as I know it was canceled though. Why I'm unsure because it was looking gorgeous. It was on par with Black for visuals a full 2 years before that game even came out. Lucky me it's being brought to the PS3 and 360 and is being developed by GearBox. Oh yeah. Half-Life people are working on it. But it's not being released till 2009.

I was excited about Super Paper Mario on the Gamecube, then they bumped it to to Wii. I know at least it got out there, but I'm probably not gonna get a Wii until Mario and Smash Bros. comes out. Other than that, I'm not sure right now.
Also, how come whenever I look at Nightwatcher's sig, I think of a Ninja Turtle in Halo-esque Spartan Armor?

Because that's pretty much what it is? It's Raph in his Nightwatcher armor.

I didn't know Raph even had Nightwatcher armor! Guess Turtles has done a lot of things since they came back. I personally have a nastalgia for the old stuff, and couldn't get into the new series.

It actually only appears in the new movie that came out in March. It was too awesome of a movie for me to pass up making another persona based on a part of it.

for me it was Robotech:Chrystal Dreams for the N64, it had good graphics for what was meant to be a releasegame at the time and would`ve provided me with a big ol' dose of transforming mecha action long before we got Battlecry.

for me it was stargate SG1: the alliance. what annoys me is how close to completion it was before it got cancelled!

I was wondering what happened to that game.
I watched a trailer for it one time and it looked pretty awesome

There was this sick fighting game for the PS1 called "Thrill Kill" that looked totally sweet. Then then it got canceled.
I think what happened was EA Games bought the company that was developing Thrill Kill, but canned it because at that time they didn't publish any M-rated games (this changed with the second Def Jam game).
Anyway, Thrill Kill's game engine was eventually used in a PS1 Wu-Tang Clan game, which was released by another company (I think it was Activision).

Transformers Energon, by the same development team that made Transformers PTE. PTE was great, and I would love to have seen what its developers would have done with the sequel.
Also, the original Soul Reaver 2, for PSX. It didn't just get bumped up a system - it was a completely different game. I love the one we got, but I'm eaten up with curiosity as to what they'd originally planned to do with it (on a similar note, I'd love to see the omitted Priestess, Dark Eden, and Stronghold levels from the SR the first).

Not technically cancelled, but Kameo: Elements of Power was supposed to be a GAmeCube game. Screenshots for it show up on early GameCube packaging. After Microsoft bought out Rareware, the game ended up shifting systems.

I wish Pop Scars would have gotten farther in development.
It was basically the heavy metal version of Def Jam(which my only problems with those games are the music and characters

This isn't exactly "games I was looking forward too", but rather "games I read about that got canned that I wish had come out":
Sonic Xtreme for the Sega Saturn. I've never had a Saturn(could have gotten one for $10 without the power cord once
. I know I could have found a replacement), but Sonic should have had a proper platforming game on the Saturn in my opinion. Hmm, I think they actually made a disc with what they had completed of it and sold it for a lot of money once.
And it would have been interesting if Star Fox 2 for the Super Nes had actually come out. I think they were like 90% done with it.
Oh wait, I do have a game I wish hadn't gotten canned: WCW Backstage Assault for the PS2. Backstage Assault was probably rushed when it came out on the 64/PS1, and if it had proper development time, it could have turned out to be the best WCW game ever made. Or at least an interesting wrestling game. But WCW went under, and thus, so did the game.

Lucky for us, 90% of that 90% was transferred into Star Fox 64.

Hmm, didn't realize that. I had it emulated on my old computer what they came out with, but I never really got very far with it. The emulator stopped working after awhile, which is fine by me, cause I've come to the conclusion that emulators stink except when you can't play a game any other way(foreign games that dont' come over, arcade games that are too expensive, etc), but I still haven't gotten another emulator, nor do I realy care too.
So, if memory serves me right, all that was left out was that tiger character, the french poodle(I think), and the ability for the Arwing to transform into a walker mode(wish that'd make a comeback). So the walker mode was a little silly, the concept is still cool! Ah heck, maybe they should just revisist that idea and have it transform into a full fledged mech....

Yup. The tiger character was changed into Bill who you meet on Katina and the poodle was changed into Kat. The walker was switched up for the Landmaster. And thankfully all range mode was brought over as well.

Earthbound zero... and mother 3 (although the later of the two was never officially anounced for the US, we never got it, and probably won't any time soon if at all... which is a shame because Earthbound was so frigging good.)

Seventh Saga 2 for the SNES. Was re-jigged into something else we never got.
I liked the original, even though it had some flaws.
