77 Bumblebee, to buy or not to buy?

Postby Leon S Kennedy » Sat Nov 03, 2007 1:22 pm

I have 08, but i envy the 77 one... Why? I have no clue. I saw it in action, some pics... It looks cool alright! I quite want it, I've seen it in stores still (TRU for 11.97 CDN) Should i buy it?

If you can, try looking for the Japanese version with the translucent windows and missles. Hasbro's are all solid.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

if you want to have the best movie BB figure; you already have it with the '08. That said, 77 BB isn't a bad figure. The Japanese release is the better one to get but is way more expensive so if you are price conscious and still want to get him, the cheaper one is the way to go (less paint to scratch off of the transparent blue too). The transformation is similar between the two. Only major difference is the roof panels on the arms of the '08 figure are now on the legs and the arms fold under the car; not behind his back and hide under the roof. Just make sure you press the button on the hood before you change from car to robot or you will break him. One of this figure's strengths is his posability. Both BB's are very articulated. I am happy I got mine.

I got him from the Target 2 Pack. But I still don't have the urge to open it and check it out, after I played with 08BB. Its just inferior in every way, unless you have a thing for old school muscle car.

It's a piece of crap. He has clown feet and he looks nothing like his movie incarnation, unlike 09 BB which looks awesome. Now worth the $10+

Although 09BB is the best of Movie deluxe toys, 77 bb is a decent toy.

'77 is a whole lot of fun. Doesn't matter if it is Japan or Hasbro. Personally, he's not worth the $$$ to get the japan one if you have the '09 one. If he was the same price as the Hasbro '77 BB, then go for it. But get the Movie Deluxe Classic '77 Bumblebee. Otherwise, once he's gone, that's it. And we all know them ebay scalper prices are high and unreasonable.

Well, for 11.97 CDN I am pretty tempted. I'm probably going to, Even though my trying to restrict myself fro buying more Autobots is finished. The Autobot/Decepticon numbers are:

A: 8( 9 in a few days... I'm getting that G1 repaint Jazz....)
D: 4 ( Probably going to stay like that till Animated Soundwave. Will go well with my G1 soundwave.)

Thanks for all comments!

I just picked up a Japanese one today, I previously had a 'broken' Hasbro one that I returned. I'm loving the clear windows on the Japanese one, and the fact that it fits together quite well in alt mode (I had lots of problems with the Hasbro one I returned). He's still a cool toy to pick up regardless of which version. You should grab the BB before someone else does, the sale is pretty decent and BB's aren't usually as easy to find around here at least.
