I don't know what's wrong. The left side is allright but the right side doesn't want to snap into place.

What you can do it try to apply pressure to bend the cage plastic slightly inwards. Or bend the holes outwards. But exercise caution. Not too much force. Or the plastic will break.
There is in fact, a small enough drill. Those hand-held devices, which looks like a fat giant pen. I'm not sure if they call that "dremell".
