Which is the most powerful incarnation of Megatron?
Can the movie Megatron stand up to the likes of G1 Megatron, or Cybertron Megatron? In which continuity was this evil robot strongest?
Opinions please.
I think he was extremely powerful in the movie; probably the single most powerful Transformer of this continuity. I think power-wise, he is up there.

The most hilarious incarnation was that of Machine Wars. A basic size class Megatron, what a joke. Prime towered over him. He was pathetic. So pathetic that I want to get him just so that he will be dwarfed by pretty much every other major character past and present.
His tech specs were as high as the current Megatron's, but he was easily the least intimidating incarnation of all time.

Wait Machine Wars never had a show. Are you sure yuo're not confusing it with Beast Machines?
The Megs of THAT continuity was cool, but when I found out he wasn't the original Megatron, I dunno... he didn't seem too scary to me. Just a very powerful successor to the Tyrant of Tyrants.
Machine Wars Megs was a new incarnation of the Decepticon Megatron. It was the smallest incarnation ever. I want to own a Basic size Megatron, very hard to find nowadays.
But in terms of sheer power I go for series Cybertron Megatron or 2007 Megatron.

If he has is Cyber Key and Nemesis Breaker, Cybertron Megatron easily takes the lead.
If it's without any enhancements, Energon Megatron is probably the strongest of the lot.
But Movie Megatron seems pretty tough, in any case.

What's Cyber Key and Nemesis Breaker?

And I don't know much about Energon Megatron.
I think 2007 Megatron is just sheer brute strength while Cybertron Megatron seems even more reliant of Cybertronian technology.

Cyber Keys were accessories of the Cybertron TF figures. They triggered action features. In-story, these keys were used to unlock stronger weapons.
Nemesis Breaker was a dark evil 'clone' of the autobot Leobreaker. He could transform from a liger into a robot and into a huge clawed arm which Megatron could wield.

The fusion cannon sent Prime flying, remember? Prime took out his gun and shot Megatron, and it didn't even really knock him down. Then Megs shot back and Prime enjoyed some airtime.

These Cyber Keys sound pretty cool.
These robots that 'attach' themselves to others seem rather lame. Minicons I can take, but not the kind that end up becoming some sort of Power Rangers or over-the-top mecha ability. I will allow Gundams that ability, Transformers... hmm.. gotta think on that.
And Megatron's fusion cannon in the movie was a monster. It's a pity they stuffed it up with his toy. I'm still complaining about that. Great movie execution, terrible toy translation.

westron wrote:movie megs seemed pretty strong and powerfull prime really never beat him the allspark did(spoiler)but i think and this my sound funny but i think rid megatron is the strongest
thats coz he had so many forms.
i think movie megatron is probably the most menacing because its the most realistic. i cant say how powerful the movie incarnation is because its not out over here yet. i cant wait to see this movie.
i didnt see Energon or Cybertron, but in terms of reliance on cybertron weaponary i thought Armada wasn't too bad. (dont go off at me please)

Galvatron can't even crush the neck of puny Hot Rod, given that much time.
Yeah, I'd put Movie Megatron as the most powerful ever.
Ermmm, no:

My view ,Megs's character is powerful as commander while he is a kind of tricky and pseudo leader in the same time just to made it get to his way. But Meg had some weak when he transformed to gun, he need someone to did the shooting and the guy who did this job was Starscream.
Movie Megs, he just portrayed short time as the commander
but they made he look more powerful since he did the battle independence with his weapon without asking someone to take him as a weaponry to fighting beside they made Prime just less stronger than Megs in this film. They made a bit overside to my Megs..

I'll go with Marvel comics Megatron. Those comics probably showed most of the characters at their strongest, come to think about it.

Most powerful Megatron of all? Beast Wars Megatron.
Other Megatrons might have had more raw power, but BW Megatron had the brains and foresight to make a plan to put him closer to wiping out the Autobots than anyone before him.
Movie Megatron is powerful, but Starscream in the movies sure as heck looks like the better leader.

Yeah I like Starscream 2007.
BW/BM Megs was also very formidable. Say, can anyone tell me why he abandoned Predacons and became obsessed with purification in Beast Machines? I'm a bit confused.
