Just saw the movie -NON-SPOILER REVIEW-
Since we have a review thread filled with plenty spoilers, I figured I'd post a spoiler-free review for people.
The movie overall was really good. I liked it as good as the first one. The difference between the two is the first one seemed more story based and this one seemed more action based. This is kind of what I wanted the first one to be, until I saw the first one and like how they did it. This seemed very much like a G1 episode and flowed similarly to the original TF Cartoon Movie. They do go into more mythology and really turn this into a TF film. The movie was pretty long and there wasn't any major lull points. Also, this is probably the most action packed movie I have seen.
Pros:
Unbelievable action
Human Characters are good and not too annoying
Really focused on the robot
More G1 influenced (this is a positive to me)
Cons:
Second line robots could have more character (movie was mostly focused on the primary robots)
Some people will not like the potty humor (I find it funny, but some conservative people might be cringing...I can see the posts now)

Thanks, I figured some people wantd to know how good it was, but not no anything about the movie.
Also, all the stuff I read on here that I thought would be some spoilers weren't at all, in fact most of them were wrong and had nothing to do with the movie.

Thank you for posting a spoiler-free review. I was thinking of starting a thread like this before going to the IMAX tonight....

Re: Just saw the movie -NON-SPOILER REVIEW-
Can I ask a few non-spoiler questions? Just a simple yes or no only.
Is Starscream more like his G1 self? I already know he took over when Megatron died in TF1, but is he a little bit happy that it happened at least?
Is the Powered-Up Optimus as badass as the keychain and concept art looked?
Does Soundwave get any good screentime? At least a line or two?
I have some more, but I don't want to introduce any possible spoilers, so I'll just wait until I get to see the movie.

I don't want to answer this as it may give stuff away.

That's cool. After posting that I realized I'd have rather just waited and seen for myself anyway.

Running off a couple hours sleep with the movie fresh in my head and I'd give this 2.75 stars outta 5.
Yes the action was great and the "Bad Boys 2" pace made it great to watch, but the horribly big plot holes and stuff that just seemed "made up" (I mean stuff that contradicts the first film) really killed the full enjoyment for me.
It's painfully obvious that continuity and story arc accuracy were not a main focus to this film.
Bottomline, Michael Bay did an amazing job with the script he had to work with. I hope Orci and Kurtzman aren't writing TF3.

Just came back from the movie. I guess i am at the forum reading spoilers far too much. 2 years to be exact.
It really take away the fun a bit when watching it properly. Sometime is good that not to be spoiled before watching the movie.
My feeling of ROTF generally is good. This time round is easier to watch the fighting scenes than the first one, though sometimes still difficult to catch some actions. (Having said that, i know who & what to expect in the movie. This make much easier to identify who is who)
CGI is as usual, great. Some of characters i wish they do it with more screen time, what they can do and their personalities as well.... Maybe far too many bots, really not much time for everyone.
Well, i going to watch it again. Not sure how many times i will watch it in the cinema this time. Of course waiting for the Bluray.
