Speculations (and assumptions) we made that ended up being wrong

Postby Phenotype » Tue Jul 03, 2007 1:36 pm

SPOILERS

Of course a LOT of speculations and assumptions were made about the film but there were a few that people started stating as fact that ended up being totally false.

1. Most people thought BB was damaged and then rebuilt as the '08 Camero. Boy was that wrong.

2. A lot of people thought Anthony Anderson stopped by the set to see his friend Tyrese and got cast in a cameo role. Now we know that he must have been cast in the movie from the beginning because he has a rather large role.

Those are the only two I can think of off the top of my head, what are some others that everyone pretty much assumed were true that ended up way off base?

Others made the speculation that the movie would suck...

They are eating crow now.

Two years ago, I thought that it could be a smart and touching movie.

Take this crap somewhere else. I'm trying to compile a list of speculations the fandom made about the actual storyline of the film, not your stupid opinions that nobody wants to hear. You want to cry about the film? Then start your own thread, but stay out of mine if you don't have anything intelligent to add.

I said a year ago on this forum that the haters would suck it. Someone told me that I would end up sucking it. I forgot who but he was wrong. Oh yeah I forgot....*unzips fly* I'm ready.

You can look at several posts I made in the past confirming my knowledge of the error during production.

It is an error per my email conversations with Bob Orci.

It's 100% an error. Hasbro wouldn't have spent all of their time making a product called "Brawl" when a simple little error that was looked over time after time simply didn't get fixed. Hopefully it will be resolved for the DVD release.

At first I didn't like the idea of Prime having lips. I thought it could possibly ruin the movie for me. The more I thought about it, I warmed up to the idea, and I didn't mind them at all since he did have the faceplate as an option.

I never was really mad about the robot designs, or alternate forms, but I wasn't thrilled either. I thought they were more likely to suck than be good. Both were fine once I saw the movie.

Was not familiar with Hugo Weaving before the movie. I was afriad Megs was going to sound like Beast Wars Megatron. He sounded great, much better than BW Megatron. Not saying BW Megs sounded bad though. I think he was the right choice for the part, but it would be cool to find a character for Welker in a sequel.

That wasn't necessary. He is allowed to express his opinions just as much as you or I. By reacting in such a manner you're causeing more spam then the original post to which you replied. Please try and be a bit more tolerant of others.

You know what they say about opinions...they're like assholes; everyone has one and everyone tends to think they're poopy.

I am trying to compile an actual list of speculations the fandom made that were generally assumed to be true and ended up being totally false. I am a very tolerant person but BS answers don't belong in this thread and I have no tolerance for people who try to derail my topic with their whining.

I like how they ended up doing it, with him having a face guard...I thought that was cool. I didn't have any issues with the lips thing, after all Primal had lips and he was awesome too.

I assumed that Starscream would be featured more (seems that he will have the spotlight in TF2 though). I expected more than one or two lines between he and Megs, although those two lines were totally in line with the characters we all know and love.

aside from Megatron, only two decepticons had actual lines, and it was one line apiece. i thought that kinda sucked.

That's pretty funny, considering how you had nothing to say to this BS answer:

There are a LOT of BS answers to this thread. In fact, almost no one has actually replied with a useful answer, I can't respond to them all. Don't try to read into it to much kiddo.
