Looks cool!
Personally, I hope they have 2 covers, one marked "Heroic Autobot" and the other "Evil Decepticon"

I'll call it now. Everything below is of course for the DVD version.

2 versions

A single disc (widescreen or fullscreen version) with the poster you used as the cover art.

The other version being the 2 disc special edition (widescreen). This will have 2 discs and the cover art will be the eye over earth. Then there will be two different slip sleeves. One will have the side profile of Optimus and it will say PROTECT and the other will be Megatron and it will say DESTROY.

I mean they're not just gonna drop the whole choose your side mantra they set up on every website promoting this movie. They'll give folks the choice of picking either Decepticon or Autobot.

I'd love to see them do a Star Wars-esque (take your pick of the episode posters) montage for the video.

There's just something sorely lacking in the "Protect", "Destroy", the one up above, the one shots of Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee. They're great, but they don't have that oomph for me.

Honestly I'd be happy with a brushed aluminum case with either the Autobot or Decepticon logo laser etched into it. No name. Just the logo. And I don't mean a slip sleeve either. I mean the actual case made out of aluminum. If you've seen the Superman Ultimate boxset you'll know what I mean. And instead of the regular clasp deal it would have one of those claasps that are on a toolbox. Man that would be gorgeous.

Is that something official or just fan made?

Also, what's a Blu-Ray? Is it a kind of fish or something...?

It's Sony's new High Definition media format. It's the opponent of HD-DVD. And the Blu-Ray drive comes in the PS3.

I remember now...

Call me old fashioned, but I'll stick with DVDs... I'm not about to replace my entire DVD collection with this premature next gen crap... cassettes lasted 20 years, no reason the classic DVDs can't do the same, especially since they're supposed to have a longer shelf life than cassettes - if we replace them all now, it would make their longer shelf life... well, irrelevant.

Oh I agree with you completely. I'm hoping it's just a fad that will wear out and then come back in 4 or 5 years. Right now however it's just for people with a ton of money to blow who want that extra little bit of quality. I'll stick with my $14 DVD's compared to the $30 Blu-Ray discs.

I'm in 100% agreement with you. i just took the time and money to replace most of my VHS with DVD. It's gonna be a long time before I replace the DVD's.

Same here. Hell, I haven't even finished swapping VHS for DVD yet. Some of the flicks I have I haven't been able to find on DVD yet. But my VCR and VHS tapes still work just, so eh.

On topic, does Paramount work with Sony to do Blu-Ray? :-? I was under the assumption that Paramount was on HD-DVD.

Paramount does Blu-Ray also. Universal is the only studio that does HD-DVD exclusively.

And Universal is going to release on Blue-ray once it's contractual obligations are over.

I can't wait to get this on Blue-ray, the quality will be wicked for all the transformations, especially on a 1080p television or even better, a projector! Blue-ray is perfect for films like Transformers.

Correction. High Definition in general is perfect for a film like Transformers....Though considering HD-DVD has a track record of better clarity I'd be inclined to go with the other version....

Sure any true high-def is good (1080p though, none of that HD-DVD 1080i please!) Anyway, Blue-ray discs store more, invariably that means better picture and sound. 1080p looks glorious on the right equipment.

It is? The guys at Suncoast told me a while back it had never been released. Thanks for the heads up! Now I've got a DVD to order, and some Suncoast but to kick, if only they were not closed down now.
