weapons at lvl 0

Weapon:
Battle Blades
the reset has encouraged me to play the game again, but it's been a long time since i had level 0 characters. so my question is, is it better to give level zero characters weapons or let them stick with their fists at this point?

I personally think weapons, and add some speed early on for accuracy. My speed/avoid/weapon based bots are doing far better in lower levels than my strength/ram bots.

I think weapons do more damage than fists will at level 0.

Proven Methods for Climbing the XP Charts (or yer energon back):
*Fighter alts: build speed & avoid + null-ray rifle or x-ray laser for weapon

So the X-ray rifle should be the weapon of choice unless someone gets lucky enough to land a null-ray rifle?
And how worth it would it be for a low-ranged level 1 strafer to branch into firepower/strafe and pick up a heavier weapon???
Right now, I'm running all slingshots on my main team, and every time I check the weapon lists all I see are X-rays...

go with null ray or x-ray (depending on what u can get)
i'm experimenting with fpr at 3 & using adhesion rifle, but i'm limited to give advice since i'm running low at spd & courage (don't have enough xp to spread around).
in the long run, i'd stick with null or x-ray until u can boost fpwr w/o losing spd & courage.
