Who destroyed the Ark 2 in the DW comics?

Hallo apparently did it to stop the Transformers getting back to Cybs to use their bodies as war machines.

And Shockwave claimed to have done it because.... I forget why, but I just remember him saying he did it...

Can some one clear this up for me? Or am I just talking nonsense?

No explanation was given in-comic, but an interview with James McDonough on Transfandom.Com which appears to now be lost to the mists of the Interweb indicated that Shockwave was controlling Hallo.

True enough, the Janitor at the military base said Hallo planned to blow up the Ark II to gain control of the TF's. I myself don't know what exactly happened w/that story. maybe Shockwave was controlling Hallo & that's why he claimed he destroyed it. Now, w/Shockwave himself, he said he blew up the Ark II so he could delay the TF's return to Cybertron. As a result, the were stranded on Earth where Shockwave sent subliminal signals to Alaska where he captured both Autobots & Decepticons. The sole purpose of the whole ordeal was to obtain the Matrix, a second key to Vector Sigma. Shockwave wanted it to become omnipotent. And that's about it.

*edit* After further investigation, it was Shockwave who told Hallo to blow up the Ark II. Don't ask me how, but he got to him in order to prevent the TF's return as well as give Hallo the (failing) chance to gain control of the TF's.

Yup. That sounds about right, DS. It is a bit fragmented, though. Most of the DW continuity was, though.

Mcdonough said that the insecticons had been on earth since prehistoric times (as well as the dynobots which is why the were packed away in a ship by megs in vol2 issue 2. But bombshell had been controlling halo with a cerebral implant. that was the explanation. would have come out in the rules of extinction most likely, and unsolicited comic that exists only as a reference in ongoing #8. hope that helps
